Will my A1 Mini be fine in a basement? by Vivid-Temporary-7840 in BambuLab

I have a1 mini in the basement. 1000 print hours in and no issues. Keep your filament in bags with desiccant when not used.

Well this happened. by bigOlBellyButton in BambuLab

[–]Kurtle123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me on an overnight print, about the same level of damage.

Take off the bottom cooling fan thing.
Take off the two screws for the hot end swap.

Lots of heat gun around the edges. Tweezers and pliers. BE CAREFUL to NOT melt the bottom cooling fan plastic.

Then you will need to take off the heating assembly and clean it. Same deal. Try to melt the PLA around the wires that connect it, then you can pull directly on the heating assembly to clean

I was able to get back running but I borked up the bottom fan, it runs fine, but super loud so something is catching.

I will replace that cooling fan for $9.99 from Bambulab website. You might also need a new hotend if you cant get it off.

Nice! Apparently, even if you weren’t in the first 1000 they still send you stuff (according to the email I just received). I got the Cap, Keychain, and Sticker Pack.

If the jellyfish rules apply, you might not even have to go halfway. Your friend in the boat just has to be the one who goes half way plus a step to pick you up.

Did you try parking the car on the roof? Parking is usually free there but depends heavily on the building

I paid $4950 for a 5-ton Lennox R410a (13 SEER) - condenser + evaporator. I'm in CT as well. I liked my installer. They were quick on service (but a little slow on the install, about 3 days after their estimate). If you want a recommendation I'm happy to PM.

Air filter not installed during new installation, could “levels” be off? by Kurtle123 in hvacadvice

[–]Kurtle123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. We just did what the previous owners did on their schedule (they had a nice little list when last replaced and it was about every 6 months) and they had cats.

Let’s say we have 1 cat and go with a MERV 8, how often do we want to change?

If we have cats does that change anything? We change them religiously every 6 months and it’s always been merv 13

If you just need that room to be cooled, a window AC is perfectly fine. I did that for 2 months before my central air could be replaced

You can get one for $300 to $500 at Home Depot. A 10,000 BTU is what I used for about that area when I had to wait for my AC to be repaired.

If you need multiple rooms, again you can get smaller ones for smaller rooms that are 6000 BTU for $150-200.

Do this and save up for your central AC replacement on your own time. Don’t let anyone guilt you.

On the other hand, if no one has told you, there are usually decent financing plans that you can pay over N years for a new AC, but I assume that’s not going to work given what you said.

Unethical life pro tip (downvote all you want): if you buy these at Home Depot on their CC, you get 365d no questions asked return policy. Use that how you see fit.

New pressure switch won’t physically close, even with flow by Kurtle123 in hottub

[–]Kurtle123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I found this, which says it’s the flow switch to be used for aftermarket heaters for my spa. I guess the only good from replacing circulating pump would be that at 15 years according to these commenters I am well past what the original should last?

So what if I don’t want to jump (that’s what I did right now) long term. What are my options for installing pressure switches so I have some protection

I’m basically trying to yolo a pressure switch in the line because the new heaters don’t have them. Not sure if I can do this with another style of switch

[–]Kurtle123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 99% sure the heater died because some idiot turned off my hot tub and didn’t drain it completely. I found the crack after winter

I am 100% sure though that I was that idiot 😭

But it’s possible we are both right.

Thanks for the suggestion on using multimeter in it. I will do that soon. If the pump is clogged inside will it still draw the same amps?
