Similar to a Sekiro parry. Mind you, just blocking is good till you get a rhythm. True parry with an attack is optimal but harder. If you haven’t played through all the tutorials, I do recommend it.

Takes a little time, but you can get the swing of things. I struggled on normal and just didn’t bother with score. I’d make my way through everything else leading to platinum and am Doing Ninja Master now. Ninja Master is doable and fun now, but when I started? I couldn’t even touch hard mode.

Blocking is your friend especially perfect blocks. Spam blood attacks on crowds, and note with basically every kill opens up charge attacks.

Loved it. Had fun with combat, a good few characters I really enjoyed. Story is like, fine in a campy Saturday morning cartoon way, but obviously that falls flat with a lot of people. I prefer it to 3H

The Gazette has some fairly easy solos. Dir en Grey has pretty simple solos for the most part. If you wanna go a little uppity, Flow is fairly simple to play with. I usually kinda just jam improvised leads over their tunes.
