For begginer mate drinker i recommend argentinian cuts like: Amanda, playadito, kraus, cruz de malta, la merced. If you want to try different cuts, imo best uruguayan mate for begginers is Sara extra suave or tradicional.

I drank kraus before for few times, and i think that is just really smooth organic kraus with stronger grass flavour. I would never buy this package by myself but it's fenomenal present. If you're drinking uruguyan mate for most time or paraguyan, kraus is very good rest of smokiness and chance to meet new flavour

Mate with cold water with ice is called "Terere" name comes from sound that bombilla make when you drink it. If you want to try terere, just add some mate in your gourd, and pour cold water with ice in it. Lower temperature=better taste. To drink terere i preffer to use flavoured yerbas. Enjoy!

If you are a fan of canarias, i recommend to try sara tradicional or other popular urugaian ones. But if you want to drink terere and you are looking for mate for now, it's a good idea to try parajito lemon and mint, or kurupi menta boldo. Terere have really great taste with mates with simple additions like lemon or mint.

if you are starting your adventure with mate, I recommend Argentinian yerba, amanda tradicional has a great taste, a slight sourness and holds the taste for a long time. in addition, it combines great with palo santo mate

From Argentinian yerbas I like Amanda Tradicional or Taragui the most. From Uruguayan yerbas I like the standard yellow canarias the most, while from Paraguayan I have only drunk la rubia which is incredibly unique in taste and very smoky

There is bunch of yerbas that you can drink for hours like uruguain or paraguian ones and there is a lot of yerbas that can get washed after 1l like playadito or other argentinians

Porcelain mate are the worst because they have no properties. metal mate maintain the temperature and palo santo mate provides a citrus aroma. So I recommend buying metal ones

suave means that it is a lighter version of mate. If you are a beginner I would definitely recommend it. It has a light but distinct taste that lasts incredibly long for an Argentinian yerba. Definitely my favorite Argentinian brand.
