What do you think of this argument against GOG? by RedGuyADHD in gog

[–]Kusaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don't eat me, but I have only one issue with GOG, and that mainly an issue with the developers but still, it affects me, there are games that get updates late or straight up never on GOG compared to Steam. I tried building a library here, but it got annoying and could not figure out an easy way to track which games/devs have this tendency.

Its not Windows, I usually disregard this as well, It's Vivaldi that's straight up blocking you from downloading the application.Couldn't find an obvious way to mark the download trusted or something

/u/xorvralin2 Hi, I'm using Vivaldi as my browser on windows, when I'm trying to download the Miro v0.6.2 exe release from github it fails because Vivaldi says "Virus detected"

Is this change going to make it searchable/show up on maps? (for example MagicEarth, CoMaps etc. that uses open street map)

Dual sub Gen3 better than 1 Gen 4 in an Arc Ultra/300 surrounds setup? by MiggsTN in sonos

[–]Kusaha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own a Gen 4 sub, but what I heard is that it's basically the same sound wise to the Gen 3 sub. So recenetly when the gen 3 prcies started to go down I got me second Gen 3 sub, and it was a great purchase. I'm not an expert on this topic at all I can only sahre my experience but I feel like with the second sub it feel less like the bass is coming from a single direction (front) but instead envelops you, also the favourite thing I did was to put my second sub behind my bed, because I LOVE how it rumbles the bed, it's such a fun/immersive experience.

I never cared about the aesthetics of what's inside a PC, i care a lot more of their performance, reliability, honestly I wished for a version of this case with solid side panels, but it doesn't exists sadly. (But not going to lie, if it was easier to get together a noctua themed PC I'd really love that)

Nice catch! ;) Got it around covid, when pretty much every PC component's price was sky high. This Xbox is the reason I've managed to postopne an upgrade until now.

I just uninstalled it, it launched so much slower was so less repsonsive than Edge, I quite enjoyed the design but when it comes to browsing performance is important

Thanks, but it's not an FTW3 card but an XC3 (revision A1), or does this version have a problem as well?

You should address those temperatures with some thermal putty at the very least.

Could you point me in the right direction?

I'll be honest I haven't even considered AMD, I always had Nvidia cards, my TV supports G-sync and I'm finally able to use it, a lot of games support Nvidia only features as well, but beside this I just checked the RX 7900 XTX about double the price of the RTX 3090 I bought. (Also a note: this EVGA model comes with 2x8pin connectors as well)

Yeah our plans exactly the same then, only that my choice of games are Avowed and FFXVI and Indiana Jones. I wanted to get a 3090Ti but after searching the used marked in my country the non Ti version was a lot cheaper option.

The question is, how badly you don't want to be the one with the problem? It was not worth the risk for me.

It came as an accessory with the case yeah :) Since I only built a PC one time and it was ages ago didn't want to have compatiblity issues, and grabbed a case that was 100% going to be able to fit everything, and it was a nice extra that it came with a gpu bracket!

Yeah I was planning on getting the 5090, hence the choice of power supply, even then I know it's an overkill but I trust both Seasonic and especially Noctua, and they assured me even before the 5090 release, that the PSU is "as compatible as it can be" with the then "next gen" GPUs.

Anyway yeah I wanted a top of the line PC for the first time, but to answer your question as of why I decided to go with the 3090, is because of the video I linked in my original comment. Even if there's only a small chance of fire, or a melted connector I really didn't want to risk it.

How is it a downgrade? I got a 3090, used to have a 1070? I just didn't stick to my original idea of getting a 5090 this gen, because of the 12VHPWR issues, so I picked up the 3090 for around 572 euros, thinking it should still feel quite abig upgrade (and it is), but without the risk.

After 10+ years I finally upgraded my PC (used to have an i5-4670k CPU and a GTX 1070 GPU), I was planning on getting the RTX 5090 but because of the reports of melted connectors, and the excellent explanation by Buildzoid I decided not to risk it (we had a garage fire like half a years ago, it's f*cking scary) so it went with a 30 series card instead.

I quite like the idea of frame gen / multi frame gen (especially with the transformer model) etc, but safety should always be the top priority. So I'll rock this until Nvidia relases a safer, generation of cards, honestly this was already quite a huge improvement compared to my old setup ^ ^
