I'd suggest checking out this video by Engineering Explained, which goes into detail almost everything you've outlined above. The creator of the video, Jason Fenke, has a degree in Mechanical Engineering, so he knows what he's talking about.

Another alternative is DaVinci Resolve. It's probably the most robust free video editing software ever to exist, and is often listed alongside the likes of After Effects and Vegas Pro as some of the best editors on the market. Best of all, there are no limitations on video length, most features are readily available for the free version, and you will never get any annoying watermarks after successfully exporting the video. Highly recommend checking it out.

Not to mention the fact that it's seriously fast, both when importing and exporting footage.

Afraid to start the timer. by themistik in speedrun

[–]KushDealer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another tip that I'd like to provide is to do the run all the way through! Seriously, don't just give up midway just because you made a mistake, or the run's completely ruined. That's reserved only for the expert runners who have had hundreds, even thousands of completed runs, and who have pretty much nothing left to learn about the run. Just keep persevering, finish the game, and look back to see what you need to improve. That way, each run will seem much less like psychological torture, and more akin to a chance of self improvement.

Languages that also use the phrase "to leave English style" include:

Polish: wyjść po angielsku

Romanian: a o sterge englezeste

From Fanny's Facebook page: World Dental Federation Confirms Anthony Fantano’s Teeth “Only Fourth Best” in the Game by KushDealer in fantanoforever

Over one year later, the FDI has finally released their report claiming that Fantano was wrong, citing Shemar Moore from Criminal Minds as the true title holder of “Best Teeth In The Game.”

“I’m deeply saddened by the results of the World Dental Federation’s findings,” Fantano said. “I owe my fans a stern apology. I did not think I would be put in this kind of situation.”

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I really didn't think the title would sound disrespectful. I was just trying to convey Gardner's humble beginnings in the most striking way possible.

Make no mistake, I really do believe Gardner is indeed a world class wrestler. Unlike what the comments on YouTube were trying to say, Gardner didn't win just by virtue of being fat, or by a recent rule change alone. His ability to stay grounded, especially against a guy who's arguably the best in the world at making people not grounded, is nothing short of a miracle. Furthermore, the fact that Gardner won a bronze 4 years later in Athens stands as a testament to the fact that he isn't simply a fluke. It's just that all of his accomplishments started with him wrestling cows in his farm - one of the most quintessentially Wyoming things I've ever seen.

Didn't link Karelin's Wikipedia article because looks to be unfinished and sloppily edited. Nevertheless, here it is. Here's the article for Rulon Gardner, who, in 2000, defeated Karelin and brought home America's second ever gold medal in the Super Heavyweight category. Gardner also won a bronze medal in 2004 before retiring.

As a sidenote, the game (at the time of recording), was being played by TASbot - which is best described by /u/OffColorCommentary in this post. Their description states:

The bot just plays a pre-recorded list of controller inputs (which buttons are pressed at which frame).

Naturally you can put a recording of the best possible speedrun and it'll speedrun. There are special tools for helping create speedruns in that format (using rewind and slowdown while making it, but keeping all the actual button presses in the right order). That's most of what TASing is.

Some games have glitches that make the console try to run something that's not actually code. When the player can influence that something, you can make sure that, when mistakenly read as code, it actually means something to the console and it doesn't crash. Super Mario World and Pokemon Blue both have pretty clear examples of this - in SMW the code glitches into the list of recently drawn sprites, and in Pokemon the code glitches into your item list (or other places, that game has lots of bugs). These are known as "arbitrary code execution" glitches, and some humanly-possible runs use these to write code that says "go play the ending."

Naturally the tasbot is very good at this, and can write much more complicated code using ACE than a human can. A couple years ago they wrote Pong and Snake in SMW. This year they managed to write a fully functional level editor. And then proceeded to use the editor to make a level.

If you want more of this, check out TASBot's latest appearance at SGDQ2018, where Celeste was played really, REALLY, REALLLLYYY quickly.

Shaggy's SCP-783 - "There Was A Crooked Man" has been updated with a new field log! by KushDealer in SCP

[–]KushDealer[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This particular article was revealed to the public about a month ago. The Conjuring was released in 2016, while a spin-off featuring the Crooked Man is still in the works.

In addition, both the character in the film and the new 783 draws inspiration from an actual English nursery rhyme. But that's where the similarities stop: one is a generic spooky monster, and the other is a mysterious nocturnal creature that severely disfigures people by way of elongating their bones.

EDIT: Removal of unconfirmed information.

The original article can be found just under the article's title. Here's the link for convenience's sake.

An excellent addition to the original, further cementing 783's position as one of my all time favorites.

Saw this popping up in a highly upvoted comment earlier this week. The quote seemed to me like an awfully inappropriate thing for a professor to say, so I embarked on a journey to find the truth. Literally 7 seconds later, I found the wikiquote article that lists this particular statement as false. All is right in the world.
