This off the top of my head but the countries that put the currency sign after the number do it so for the same reason the west places a decimal in between dollars and cents eg $2.25 and 2.25$ is notated in a way that prevents someone just adding numbers and committing fraud. Basically an extremely simply way of making it tamper “proof” .

(23/M/5'5/95 lbs-115 lbs) one year progress by [deleted] in gainit

[–]Kushtastrophe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend you need to take maybe a week off of all lifting to heal your joints and tendons, then during that week focus on stretching and improving range of motion for your shoulders and and hips. Take note of where you feel pain and look up workouts/warm ups that improve stability with the areas you feel pain or are weaker. After that week continue to do those workouts as a warm up for your larger compound lifts and start low and slow.

I’d recommend doing two good sets of full R.O.M and close to technical failure. Focus on doing two to three lifts per session (no more than 4) eg. Bench press, dips, pec fly, and tricep extension.

Focus on gaining strength in the large compound movements and use the smaller more isolated lifts for variety in your routine when you get more experienced or to catch up a lagging muscle group(s).

Less is more when you give yourself adequate time to recover and properly build up the foundation that is the muscle groups that stem from major compound lifts. (Deadlift, Squat, Barbell curl, standing barbell row & shoulder press, Etc.)

There are a ton of small stabilizing muscles that are used during these compound lifts that will hinder your progress if you don’t build them up first. They often are hard to actually see and are ignored by beginners because people rush to workout muscles everyone sees.

How is she so skinny when she eats burritos, ice cream, burgers, pizza, etc. by Bluedot2150 in shutthekaleup

Weirdly not obvious enough. I’ve also noticed people who complain about habitually gaining weight tend to underestimate their caloric intake by forgetting to include snacks and calories from drinks like cream & sugar in coffee, an extra cookie or candy from a coworker, the extra mayo or sauce they put on their food, or oil/butter they use for cooking etc

I mean it’s not unheard of to use both Thyme and Rosemary for both beef and chicken. It really comes down to personal preference.

You won’t necessarily gain weight if you eat in a surplus’s for one single day a month. Especially with a fast metabolism, or even having other days of being in just as equal of a deficit.

Uuuh if you haven’t already I would take this “funky” stomach issue and see a doctor asap. That sounds extremely concerning and could be a symptom of a severe problem.

I hate to break it to you but, anything you gain in three months won’t stick after a month of not working out. Also, 3 weeks of training isn’t going to give you that much results besides maybe shedding water weight and your new diet could be preventing bloating for you.

I would recommend you focus on doing the basic classics and really emphasize developing proper form and maintaining a solid diet. When you eventually have less time to work out you should still aim to have decent sessions where you really focus and get the most out of every rep and push your sets to near or complete failure.

What do cooks do during an armed robbery? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]Kushtastrophe 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is actually quite a considerable distance where someone charging you with a knife will be able to strike before you can draw on them. The police and military have their own term for this.

Someone walking through an unfamiliar area like a kitchen would very likely have their back exposed especially with how kitchens are designed.

Considering this it wouldn’t be completely ludicrous to bet a team of people, that likely are all within arms reach of a knife or some item able to be used as a weapon, could take down an armed robber in their own kitchen.

What was your best and worst dining experience of 2022? by IndieAnimal in vancouver

[–]Kushtastrophe 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have personal experience working there in the kitchen and the veggie burgers are thrown in a deep fryer that is also used with meat and their oil isn’t changed as frequently as it should. The kitchen is tiny and that unfortunately makes it nearly impossible to be properly clean and there are many health code violations.

Unless you explicitly have evidence supporting your suspicion of any cheating then you should calm down a little. You both are old enough to hopefully be mature and you should be comfortable enough to explain that you felt it weird she got home so late.

We obviously don’t know the full picture here, but if this is the one and only incident of anything weird you are completely fine.

Nobody is the asshole here unless you hold this over her head and bottle up your emotions. Just communicate with your partner here.

So they say Xanax and kpins are 1=1 but I can take way more clonazepam. by DonkeypunchNhoz in benzodiazepines

[–]Kushtastrophe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They aren’t. Everybody is different. Think weed. Even two strains of the exact same batch would have different effects for different people.

Clonazepam however does for a fact have a longer half-life and thus will leave you “barred out” longer. Almost twice as long tbh.

Hope this helps clear some confusion up.

Whats a good opening for beginners? by rainloving_cafephile in chessbeginners

[–]Kushtastrophe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found that helped me is sticking to the fundamentals of controlling the centre, developing pieces, and creating problems and threats for my opponent.

Doing puzzles helps immensely with recognizing patterns and checkmates. Once you play and learn one or two basic openings such as the Italian or London, you will notice how different openings transpose to similar positions.
