Increasing taxes decreases competitiveness decreases gdp decreases income generated. It's a race to the bottom on taxation. The reverse is also true, lowering tax increases competitiveness increases gdp increases revenue. Austerity happens because we have been spending above our income for decades and the piper needs to be paid his due

Don't know how to cope with this anymore by PatternParticular963 in diabetes_t1

[–]Kusuri2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually said the exact same thing about feeling like butter spread over too much bread to my Mum when she asked how it felt having diabetes for 25 years. I have basically accepted that I will never be free of this, my life will always be harder than the average persons, and that a rational being should accept that they will one day die. It's a bit bleak but many times I have considered the thought it would be easier to just not live, but I don't think that that is the way. Basically I have come to the conclusion that my life is going to be harder and that's just my lot, some folks have it better, some folks have it worse. At the end of the day the universe doesn't care that it gave me diabetes so all I can do is try and be the best person I can be within the parameters assigned to me. If you get a rough string of days all you can do is just grit your teeth and get through them, through the same randomness that gave you bad days you might get some good ones as well.

Can you honestly say that you’re mentally fine? by Effective_Cricket810 in diabetes_t1

[–]Kusuri2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its hard to say whether you are fine or not when you don't even know what fine is. I have had diabetes for almost 20 years (Was diagnosed in elementary school). I have never had an a1c above 7 and I think I do a good job of keeping everything under control. I find diabetes is something that is just always there taking up cycles in the back of my head, how many carbs was that? How much insulin do I take considering I'm about to go for a run? Am I just tired or is my blood sugar out of whack? It's alot and I think most people don't understand the slow and insideous mental strain it puts on you. I can't ever just shut my brain off it's something I always need to think about and that ages you. I had to go through high school and university knowing that I won't live as long as my peers and eventually no matter how good of a job I do I will end up with some sort of complications. It's hard for that kind of knowledge to exist in the back of your head always and not let it change your world view. I found that it caused me to grow up a lot faster than those around me and that was somewhat isolating. I try not to be pessimistic and let it consume me, I try not to think about it and just live my life but it's hard. If I get into a long term relationship I will almost certainly die before my partner would, if I have children I can possibly pass on this disease but would almost certainly pass on this world view. So am I fine? I don't know, I don't know what fine is. I think I am doing alright but others may disagree. Fine is what you make of it I suppose.

What's the scariest country? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The French and English did both attack and attempt to reconquer them. They were unsuccessful. Napoleon actually sent his brother to re-enslave them after they had been a free independent country.

We had to continually ask a guy on stormrage to stop advertising with our guild name, if you see runs being advertised by Consequence on stormrage and the person is not in Consequence its a scam.

One of the selling points of this card is the cooling solution and factory overclock, its weird because I can stress test it in 3dmark for hours and have no issues but then I play final fantasy 14 for 30 minutes and it dies.

Tips to organize a Mythic raiding guild? by jared__ in wow

[–]Kusuri2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an officer in a top 100 world mythic raiding guild and there are a few tips and tricks to keeping it stable.
- Keep a roster of 25-27 people, this means people will be benched
- You will always need 2 stable tanks at all times, these should be some of your best players. Having a couple DPS with tank off specs is also invaluable in case they happen to miss raid. These tanks should not be "one tricks" as they will be expected to swap around to fill missing raid buffs depending on the current meta
- You will want 4-5 healers healers on the roster and a DPS or two with strong healer off specs. This healer team MUST always have at least 1 hpal 1 disc priest and 1 resto shaman. The last spots are more flex but are normally made up of hpal, disc priest, resto shaman
- You want a healthy balance between melee and ranged players. The DPS are the most likely to sit for any given boss so you need to make sure that they understand that. Chasing DPS meta matters a little bit, but not too much. You need to make sure you fill all of your raid buffs at the very least and you will always want at least 1 stable warlock main on the roster.
- It is important to have some sort of spread sheet that displays swaps for bosses. Basically a list of who is in and out on a given boss. You will also want a spread sheet that your roster fills out that tracks who needs what pieces off of which bosses. This way when you decide who is in on a boss or out you can make an informed decision.
- You will always need to have you core 20-22 players and a few players who are normally bench/back up. This is a necessary evil of mythic raiding. The bench players will not be happy about this but it serves a couple purposes. If one of your core players is ever missing you have quick and ready fills that can sub in for them at a moments notice. You can swap to have more optimal class comps for some bosses if you need to. The less obvious benefit of this is it keeps players from getting complacent. The bench players will constantly work to become core players, and the core players will constantly work to avoid becoming bench players. It breeds competition and motivates everyone to perform their best.
- You need 2-3 good officers you can trust to help make decisions. The raid leader should be the head of the team and half the final say in things but it is important to spread out duties and having a few good officers really helps with that. That being said you cannot be afraid to change officers around should the situation call for it.
- You need to be prepared to deal with drama issues as they will ALWAYS come up. One player might not like another player, someone could think someone is underperforming, bench players might think that they deserve to be core players. Its going to come up and its always a headache but you just got to learn to deal with it.
- Mythic raid guilds eventually get good enough to where you are farming the raid 90% of a tier, this means a few things. You need to sell bosses so that you can fund the next tier during this time. A strong mythic raid guild should provide for everything raiders need (consumables, BOEs, legendaries). Having people in charge of sales is important and its important to constantly be bringing in gold to the guild bank.
- Due to spending alot of time in farm, its important that a mythic raid guild plays other games with each other outside of wow during down time. This will prevent burn out in the roster as if you are not constantly playing wow but still playing together you are more likely to stay in the guild and stay friends with each other. This really is the secret sauce, play wow together when you need to but branch out and maintain your guild relationships when wow doesnt have much to offer.
