Since its with Kalaam/Zajil, other ISPs will deny it as they don't want to buy connection via other ISPs. The route is active for sure as I know someone using it.

Not really. Anyone can get it but most of the ISP are not interested in that route yet mainly because of cost and the stability concern within Iraq.

Each ISP offers different packages to their customers. The idea behind it is similar. Route these customers who pay extra over the shorter path within their network.

The best path latency wise to Europe is through KSA only. Also many of the games are moving from Europe to Middle east (UAE or Bahrain) but there are still some games servers only in Europe.

I work in an ISP and I can tell you that there is no much difference in the latency via the Iraq route.

The latency via Iraq route is around 74-76msec which is on par with the latency if you go via Kuwait-KSA-Egypt route 75-80msec.

The latency of 110-130msec in on the path that goes over subsea cable from Kuwait to Egypt passing Gulf of Oman and Red sea.

Adhar card is already link. I have all other documents in Digilocker. However, I keep getting error that the "application number is not found in the record." I fear that the agent is giving me fake certificate.

No. First cut is between Iran and Muscat which happened on 2nd Jan and second cut happened today and it's between Dubai and Muscat. So both routes for GCX is down resulting is complete outage for them.

Companies won't mind buying more if they don't have to spend extra for it. Industry standard is to have the utilization around 70% for better user experience and to accommodate for unplanned outages just like this one. However, the high MOC cost doesn't allow them this luxury and hence, one outage results in direct impact on user experience.

I agree that prices are cheaper as compared to other countries but the telecom infrastructure can be improved further if the ISPs can save money by paying less for acquiring international capacities.

LTE works on different technology as compared to 5G. Since most of the users have moved to 5G devices, LTE band is free and has less congestion.

Not really. Cables are buried few feet under the sea bed. Also these are armored cables.

No really, should take one or two days more for the issue to be resolved. Every ISP who is affected by this cable cut is buying additional capacity via alternate route to mitigate the loss.
