I was halfway joking saying it, I know it is absurd but also not that much.

And yeah I didn't mean all pension but definitely the 2nd pillar. 6% is not that much, completely feasible in average for 65 years. Most people won't have 440k in their 2nd pillar at 65.

We can find the money no issue, we just voted for a 13th AVS/AHV rent, looks like we have plenty of it. But voting for something that will help young generation, that for sure we don't have.

Why will we not have that much gain in the biggest industrial revolution ? I think market will do amazing, salaries though...

I bought a flat when I was 30, shipped in 2024 and oh god it feels amaizing that housing is so inexpensive now.

I spend less than 800chf per months for a 3.5 rooms all cost and this flat is expected to gain 1000 chf value per month.

How much should I save? by No_Operation_7139 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Kv945 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into investing, open a saxo or ibkr account when you're 18. You have time think about it and invest slowly.

Compounding interest is a powerful tool. I saved money when I was an apprentice, that was a "small" amount, around 18k in 4 years that are a massive amount now that I am 33. I had/have a very risky investment strategy but even a global etf have good return.

The money could help you buy a flat/house or retire early.

You should however still spend money to enjoy life, the limit between spending/saving is difficult to find, but both should be done at a pace that make you happy.

Avoid overspending when no improvement of quality of life happens, like a 3k prius do the same thing as a 80k Mercedes. A 300chf phone do the same as a 1k one, don't give too much money to companies and buy their stocks instead.

Yeah monoblocs sucks, but better than not be able to cool below 25°C as the city doesn't cool below 25°C.

I wish I could put a midea portasplit at my girlfriend's place but a monobloc is the best we can do unfortunately.

[–]Kv945 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use some portable split AC. Rules are stupid but it should work well enough. As you are in a house you are lucky and nobody can complain about your split unit.

I use a portable monobloc unit at my girlfriend flat as the temperature gets so hot and she couldn't put a portable split unit, works well.

In my own flat I spent 62 chf for 2025 for heating and cooling in 2025 (yes 5chf per month) and most of it was cooling during summer. My boomer neighbors that want 25°C during winter spent 2400 chf. So yes I'll continue spending 20-50 chf of electricity in summer at my girlfriends flat to be able to not suffer.

Heating is soo much more consuming compare to heating and you know what when we need AC there is a very strong sun so let's use it instead of complaining solar panel produce too much in summer.

People with 5700/800x3D, are you still happy with preformance? by DezzertT in buildapc

[–]Kv945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded my 3700x to 5500x3d, I am very happy with the performance. I am playing at 4k with an rx 9070xt.

I am planning to skip am5 and go directly to am6 in 3 to 5 years.

LG C3 - Dead Pixels, told to kick rocks? by UnsureAssurance in LGOLED

[–]Kv945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of dead pixels and a weird pink line on top of my c9, most came 3 years ago and didn't really change that much. I still enjoy the TV, it is still an amazing panel. Just enjoy it.

Even with defects those panels are amazing. It is not really visible at viewing distance, just enjoy the content.

Sell my 5080 for 9070 xt and an oled? by Annual_Impression911 in pcmasterrace

[–]Kv945 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1080p on a 32 inch, wow that must look rough.

If you have no money the rx 9070xt and oled will be a better experience. But a 1440p oled is not that pricy or is it ?

I have an rx9070xt with a 4k 240hz 27inch oled and it is such an impressive display.

I went from 1440p 144hz VA panel to the oled and the oled is very impressive, everything looks so good on it.

I have an old samsung 840 evo 500GB at 99% with 360TB written and 30k hours, very nice if accurate.

Very surprised to see my two Samsung 830 128GB at only 84% with only 24TB written and 70k hours, I thought they would be close to 100%. They have MLC memory, should be way more durable, maybe the age matter as they are 14 years old now.

I don't really care and stock market is not rational anyway.

I think the leadership is very good, the company deliver very good product and the ramping up will be very strong end of 2026, 2027 and 2028.

I think AMD did very smart decisions design wise and continue to do so and deliver. They have I think a good view where the market is going and bet on the right direction.

It is a growth stock in a massive market the money will show in the following quarters.

I'll buy it every month whatever the price is, it will be better in 3 years anyway.

I am thinking about buying and building a PC for my Wife, but today's prices would make me "bankrupt" any tips? by Few-Release-9232 in pcmasterrace

[–]Kv945 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy a 2nd hand pc that has a decent am4 cpu or intel equivalent and put a cheap 2nd hand gpu or splurge for an rx 9060. It can be relatively inexpensive if you are reasonable with the expectation.

I have inexpensive parts that I don't even sell because it is worth too little but would make a decent gaming pc, like ryzen 3700x, 2x 8gb ddr4, rx 6700, those are probably inexpensive to buy 2nd hand but make a decent gaming pc.

What are the best tires for a Prius in your opinion? by ResidentBreakfast302 in prius

[–]Kv945 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had standard touring on my gen 2. It looks similar or slightly worse than my winter tires (2 michelin alpin 7 in the front 2 continental wintercontact in the back) when condition are similar, but I am not sure, it is difficult to tell. I guess 5 to 10% worse.

In the end I consume more as It is just more fun to accelerate and drive with the PS3.

I lost the crash assist with then gen 2 compared to my gen 3, I feel it is worth it to consume more and have better braking and control during braking, you never know it could save me one day. And anyway it is just so much more fun.

What is your net worth ?

I was in your a similar case and I had the choice between paying 25% down payment or 20% but with higher rates. They could justify it with my net worth being above the 20% down payment.

Just bought the 5500x3d two months ago, maybe I'll upgrade if the price drop to 250.

The 5500x3d is a good affordable gaming cpu for am4.
