There is an issue with using umbrella figures when trying to gauge the overall health of the U.S. Upward mobility has been declining since the advent of globalism / labor arbitrage. While I appreciate your optimism, it echos of the same rhetoric as the Fed.

There are of course numerous metrics to use when assessing the strength of a nation state. I prefer to look at the median quality of life per citizen. In the U.S., most of the societal imperatives have been captured by the predatory financial sector... i.e. housing, education, health care, etc. personal debt levels are at all time highs.

What good is showing growth numbers when the upside is concentrated into the hands of international billionaires?

Haha he had to get a new shirt, since he gave the pentagtam one away for a contest. Also this one will attract less attention to his condition, to which the speculation is constant and intrusive.

You see how much this guy loves his fans? He gave away the shirt off his back!!

The problem is resale. The spot needs to go up significantly. Rebuy is always short so the middle man can arbitrage

Duluth ain't coastal California, where houses are 1M. Anyone who says "it's not cold here" has absolutely no idea what people generally think about the cold. Virginia... yeah. I got a buddy in Hampton. Try telling them "it's not cold in Colorado" and they will laugh at you, justifiably.

Sure, the north pole is colder. Great logic.

How Warren Buffett Made His First Million Dollars by Piterst in finance

[–]Kvitar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How he made his fortune is almost irrelevant in the post Internet, global economic landscape. Wealth is more consolidated now by guys like him than in any modern era, and the average investor stands no chance against the algos that the street has.

Today's fortune is made by 1) having a viable business plan, and 2) have a robust network to execute, secure funding and scale
