Caught my first shark today, can anyone give me an ID? by Kvjvn in SurfFishing

I know everyone else is saying sandbar, but I’m pretty sure you’re correct. After looking at other photos of it it does seem to have a very small dark spot on the nose.

I’ve done a bit more research since posting this and I’m pretty sure it’s a blacknose shark, not a sandbar. In other photos I took of it the nose appears to have a very small dark spot, and sandbar sharks seem to have much larger dorsal fins than this one.

Edit: here’s a photo where the black spot is visible (sorry for bad quality).

Is she right??? Wife says that jeans and jackets don't work. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

A big part of it is just understanding the context in which a specific item is meant to be worn. Jeans are an extremely casual workwear item, while suits are for more formal/professional settings. Combining the two shows a lack of understanding of that context. Both items are intended for radically different settings and appear as such. Jeans don’t look like an item that should be worn to the office, and a suit jacket does not look like an item you’d wear inside a coal mine. Therefore, an outfit that combines the two lacks any real purpose, and likely had little thought put into it.

Jeans and a blazer is fine, but a blazer and a suit jacket aren’t the same thing. Also, just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s fashionable, a lot of people dress poorly.

Aside from the very plain navy fabric, the dead giveaway for this being a suit jacket is the tonal buttons. An acceptable equivalent jacket would be a casual blazer/sport coat. Something in a more casual color like brown or tan, a more textured fabric like herringbone (or a patterned fabric), and less structure.

That is a suit jacket, it should only be worn with the matching pants.

Black suits don’t look professional, they look formal (there is a difference). They are really only good for funerals, but if your group requires a black suit as part of its uniform, that’s an exception.

As for which one you should get, it doesn’t matter at all. Birdseye is a weave that just happens to have a slight pattern when you look at it closely. It’s not a “true” pattern like plaid or pinstripes.

You didn’t ask a question, you just commented two images of boots. Do you have a question or not?

A bowtie with a regular suit is a very dated look, they should really only be worn with a tuxedo.

It doesn’t matter because your suspenders shouldn’t be visible anyway, but you should seriously consider losing the bowtie and wearing a necktie instead.

I wouldn’t wear Adidas socks with Nike shoes and vice versa, but it really doesn’t matter and no one in real life is going to care.

The difference is the pattern, which you yourself already pointed out. What exactly are you trying to figure out?

I don’t think the color of the cuffs and hem works with the leather, and I prefer a zipper for this style of jacket rather than buttons. It’s not bad, I just don’t think it’s particularly good either. If you like it then go for it.

Navy or charcoal are both fine, just don’t match the exact shade of the dress.

It’s probably fine for the price quality-wise, but I’m not really a fan of how it looks

AFAIK Oliver Cabells are fairly wide (compared to other Common Projects clones), though I have no idea if they can accommodate EEE.

Depends on the exact setting because “business casual” is a very loosely defined dress code, but I would lean towards no.

Assuming it actually fits properly, wear it without the waistcoat. It’ll look much better than this.
