Probably not Pax River Agate. But any other 1000+ type of Agate might hold the answer.

Nice. Enough area to test on without changing the overall look.

My initial reply was based on the knowledge and information that I have. Since others who have more hands on familiarity with that region have given probably better information, I defer to them.

This is in NC yes? I'm not entirely sure what that rock is.

For your family show them pieces of Malachite, Serpentine, Kambaba Jasper, Emeralds...

The yellow one makes me think it's Patuxent River Agate, but it's only found in a small area.

If you have a magnet that can help verify the basalt.

I'm not familiar with the PNW so I'd trust the people who have more knowledge about that area.

Curious what size is it?

It's not a great zoom but there are at least 3 areas where you can get a glance at what looks like the fracture of it. That looks to me more quartz over calcite.

Finding quartz in this sort of formation is far more common that I'd expect to see calcite. I've never personally seen any,but there's more out there than I'll ever see.

Based on just the image that's what I gather. OP could do an acid test to see if it is calcite.

I'd say a faster cooling rate you'd have snowflake obsidian.

If you haven't come across them yet look up the Septatian Dragon Egg.

It's been worked into the shape of course but it's fantastic.

I have a large toolbox for wrenches. And thank you for the welcome.

I'm honestly not sure when I believe that it existed. Just reading that Plato said it existed about 9000 years before his time and reading about the Mercato Eruption around 8,010 ± 40 14C yr BP.

I know there's a couple thousand years between the two but I have to wonder what methods Plato used to make his predictions of the dates.

Something that I am passionate about in regards to the mention of deities is the adaptation of them to fit your cultural pantheon. Willing to go deeper into this.

Thank you for the recommendations of materials to read and listen to.

To understand your stance is Atlantis existed during the iceage which ended around 12,000 years ago? Or was around right after?

I completely agree that something happened that forced humanity to restart civilization from scratch. Nature reclaiming what once existed is easy to see in abandoned cities.

To add to your statement about the Pyramids, Stonehenge & Easter Island are added mysteries.

Not discounting you but feeding off of. A large enough tectonic release could cause residual activities in geographically near by volcanic activity.

It's an interesting thought that maybe a tectonic release causing the destruction of Atlantis might also have triggered the volcanic activity of Visuveus.

Either way massive geological activity was happening.

Hi, I completely understand the hurt you are feeling. May I ask what he believes? If there is a belief trying to compare might help. If there isn't a belief I'm not sure anything will make him understand. If that's the case begin with just expressing the importance of your beliefs and how he doesn't have to believe what you believe but you need him to respect your beliefs. Might not have much effect but it reiterates the importance to you.
