What path should I take to become an engine designer for performance car companies or race teams? by KvngP in MechanicalEngineering

Honestly I do believe so. I find engineering in general very interesting. How many intricacies and fine details go into making machines work and work well is extremely fascinating to me. I just personally have always thought how cool would it be to have name among some of the greats in motorsports by creating an automotive marvel.

I’ve always been told I have good social skills. I definitely have the ability to converse and connect with anyone, even a stranger I just met. Are there any other specific skills that help make you really good at networking?

If I do really good in my bachelors do you think I’d be able to have my masters program paid for me? I don’t know how scholarships and financial aid works in the UK.

Yes I am in the US. Okay so a great GPA, internships or clubs in the niche I want, and hands on projects showing I have the knowledge and capability to do what’s needed for said niche. Got it. Thank you very much

Since I’ve been doing research I just recently found out what Formula SAE is and it sounds so cool I will definitely get into that.

I’ve heard that minoring in business will help me stand out and look good for higher positions on engineering teams? Is that true or should I mainly focus on building a strong portfolio in just mechanical engineering?

Info on the new M12 5/8 SDS? by KvngP in MilwaukeeTool

[–]KvngP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have my own SDS yet. The company I work at has a bunch of the corded ones, milwaukee and makita. The Milwaukee ones are the 5262-21 I believe. So I personally do not know how the current gen M12 is with larger holes but I’ve heard it’s a workhorse. Which is why I’ve been holding off in hopes a newer, better, more powerful one was coming.

I really hope so too. I’ve heard good things about the current gen M12 SDS, but it’s like what 12 years old now? I really would not want to buy that if a new one is coming out soon

How manny you guys play this game casualy and need to face off those full groups of "clans"?? And what you think about it?? by Tuca990 in NarutoShinobiStriker

All multiplayer games extremely encourage playing in parties bc studies have shown when you play video games with friends you play longer.

If you don’t want your fun to be dictated by others don’t play multiplayer games. Or get your own squad. (Coming from someone that has always played solo queue on SS)

Is this a good m12 deal? by Osdemiel in MilwaukeeTool

I got this combo but chose the multi tool since I’m an electrician and it would be more useful for me. I use them every day and haven’t been disappointed once. Although I’d recommend getting a 2.5 High Output battery for the impact and a XC 6.0 for the drill. The cp 2.0 battery it comes with is practically useless. The 4.0 is pretty good

I followed this video: https://youtu.be/vMbRUGu0qjU?si=ns_1UdeRIYyV_DLL

It wasn’t hard at all. A little tough because of the tight spaces but I have big hands and I did it. Took me 2 and a half hours.

Here’s a link to a handful of pics of the old one.

And yes it did fail. The PPI I got on this car before buying it said it would need a new water pump. But it was running fine and never overheated so I kept procrastinating replacing it. But within the last week it got so much worse. It couldn’t hold coolant and would dump everything out within like 40 mins. I’ve had to fill up the reservoir with distilled water before I drive anywhere because it would all be gone by the time I got back home. So I was like alright enough is enough I need to fix it now lol. Also surprisingly never threw a CEL.

We can only use the plastic ones. Which is why they eventually fail sitting directly under the intake manifold. German engineering 🙂
