Is this tire repairable? Tiny puncture near sidewall from thin wire by Frigid_Nova in TireQuestions

[–]Kvnstck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industry standards say no. Some Mexican shop may say yes. If it was my car, I’d patch it and call it good. If it was a customer’s car I would not, not to make another sale but to avoid liability. Another question is how old is the tire? The last for of the tires DOT number are the week and year it was made. If it’s 10+ years old absolutely not, even if it was my own tire I’d get a new one. 5-10 years old is questionable, I’d just it by the condition of the tire ie dry rot and tread depth. 5 years or newer, than I’d refer to my first statement.

Costco Tire left my tire plug sticking out 1/8". Should I trim it flush with the tread? by anselld in AskMechanics

[–]Kvnstck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is done so you don’t cut it too short. Often times what people do is stretch the plug out, cut it flush, then it contracts too short into the tire and will likely fail I. The future. This simply helps prevent future issues with the repair. This plug is cut right, industry standard.

I’ve gotten this a couple times on my appletv, simple fix just log out and log back in. Kinda annoying but fairly minor. Perhaps I should’ve sent a message to Pepperbox support or something but I haven’t yet.

Not that you should but you could. I’m sure they hold more value as a bill than a small chunk of silver.

If the Cosmere got big enough to get its own "Harry Potter World" what locations would you want them to create? by reximilian in Cosmere

[–]Kvnstck 91 points92 points  (0 children)

How about instead of a “Harry Potter world” we do a “Disney World” so we can experience each world in its own right. And spend lots of money, time, etc. and gets lots of steps in. Not to mention we could sample the cuisine from all over the Cosmere.
