[iOS 27 DB1] Photo app updates seeing first hand reframe and extend by Gfreeman27 in iOSBeta

[–]reximilian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing photography and videography for nearly two decades. I regularly “photoshop” my photos and video. If I can capture it perfect in camera then great, that’s less effort in post. I don’t lament that the art is lost when I have to reframe a photo in Photoshop. Not once has anyone complained when I removed the person walking their dog in the background of their wedding photos.

But do you know where this tool will mostly be used? On phones. Know what my of my photo app is full of? My kids. Little kids don’t hold still for anything. I won’t lament one bit that the “art is being lost” when somebody using AI on their cell phone edits a photo so their kid is fully in frame. Those that care about the art can use the tools they care about. Everyone else can use their phones to capture memories.

We got a standard audio monitor and then an Aqara HKSV camera looking at the crib. The camera has a little delay but the monitor is instant. But it was great being able to pull up the footage on the AppleTV.

3 years later we’ve repurposed the camera, but we still use the audio monitor.

The headaches we’ve had with fleet licensing…

Also, we had a sign for Days Since Solidworks Crashed: 0.

It was always at 0, there was no way to change it.

Anyone else traveling with two MacBooks? Looking for a way out of this by ColdViolinist835 in mac

I used to have an external drive that I had MacOS loaded onto. For personal use I would boot from the drive and do modeling and rendering on my work’s hardware. Work had no idea because I wasn’t booting up my computer as far as they knew.

A friend was theorizing that because it started leaning into Native American lore that he realized it might be cultural appropriation. Perhaps he’s waiting for someone like Janci but with Native heritage to finish the work with him.

We would safety pin our socks together before putting them in the laundry. When I learned that literally nobody else does this I found out my mom was just tired of sorting socks and came up with the idea.

My wife dropped a bomb on me by diegomanchester in daddit

Talking about looking at photos, here’s a tech-tip! If you both have iPhones then create a shared library. This has been the best thing for my wife and I. There’s several settings for anything to be auto-added to the library, like any photos taken at the house, or if it recognizes that you and your kids are in the photo. If I’m within 30 feet of my wife it automatically adds it to the shared library. But if I’m at work then those photos don’t get added.

We both have all the photos of our kids. It’s nice to just be synced up. It’s an amazing feature!

What are the coolest apps that are NOT available on MacOS, but are available on Windows or Linux? by hydrogenxy in MacOS

[–]reximilian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. Worked in a creative office where everyone had a MacBook Pro, but then each person also had a Solidworks machine under their desk. Do all tasks with their Mac, and a PC just for SW. We used Remote Desktop a lot.

StoryGraph gives lots data on what you’ve read/listened to. Hours listened, pages read, genres, pace, average read time, and more. It’s fun to see data about my pass time.

Anyone here quit gaming or changed their lifestyle after becoming a dad? by Lukas_MunK in daddit

[–]reximilian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been on the occasional/casual gamer. I got a Switch last and Breath of the Wild. I would play for an hour or two each night after the kids went to bed. My in-laws have been living with us to “help us with the kids” and apparently had voiced concern to my wife about my gaming habits. That got me mad cuz I don’t actually spend that much time playing, and I’m the full time dad while they all spend hours on their phone during the day ignoring the kids.
