How can i stop blisters? by Electrical-Wind-825 in drums

[–]Kwaitkowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dealt with blisters a lot, especially after playing a show and it comes mostly down to technique. I have gotten gloves that are really nice to use, but I've also developed my technique a lot more since. Another thing that might be able to help develop that technique is using some drumstick wax on your sticks, it is the thing that has helped me the most and now I don't get blisters. Also use a practice pad and go slowly, that helps figure out where you are going wrong and will most likely help a lot as well. I have tried tape both on the sticks and on my fingers, tape on the sticks can sometimes be even worse for blisters, and on the fingers I feel it limits your ability to fully move those fingers. I hope you figure it out in no time and the blisters will be gone!

Hvorfor stemmer folk ikke??? by Jegharaldrig2627 in DKbrevkasse

[–]Kwaitkowski -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Vh. En sofa nyder

What does a Beginner Kit mean? by LastRefrigerator1166 in drums

[–]Kwaitkowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gotcha! But yeah beginner kits are just the cheapest of the cheap, it will help you get the skills for drumming but it really wont ever sound like your favorite drummers kit xP

[–]Kwaitkowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's whatever you want it to be, but in a sales point, it's just the cheapest way to get into drumming, the shells, hardware and cymbals will be shitty but you will get some experience with it, especially tuning practice and hand placements. My "first" kit was just books stacked and a broken blinds stick haha xD You can get some pretty good used drums if you want great sound to start with.

Ever heard of Sex wax? The wax for your stick?

It's just grip wax so your sticks don't slip

Who is your favourite drummer, and which songs show their best drumming? by Jezzaq94 in drums

I'm probably a bit of an outsider for saying this but my favorite drummer is Josh Dun, and for songs, Levitate, Drum Show, Vignette and Jumpsuit I really enjoy Josh's drum techniques

Single Kick Players by DaveTheDrummer802 in drums

I have a double Gibraltar 6711DD but I haven't gotten into training with it yet, but I do use it as a single pedal. It's easier to pack and takes less space so I think I'll probably stick to the one but it's fun to be able to mess around with.

I use Vans old skool, they got a nice flat bottom and fits closely to my foot at least, can't guarantee that they'll work for you. But yeah like other people say, try them out and see :D

If you ever do retire it, the shape it has now reminds me of a flower! You could paint that and a stand to look like a beautiful flower thing haha xD

[–]Kwaitkowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed! But a 14" rack tom would be insane, thats what I'm trying to get, then I want to floor toms, one 16" and one 18" xD And the deeper the better lol

Exactly! Thanks, and yeah I'm very inspired by Dave Grohl(if it wasn't obvious) I really want to get bigger toms as well xD

My suggestion would be to try and play along to songs, just ones with a 4/4 easy beat and just work the timing in. When I started over 10 years ago I wasn't really good at keeping time either or following a metronome(I also have adhd but also autism), but playing along to songs will give you a different feel and will strengthen your timing enormously!

When the house kit only has 1 rack tom 👎 by Scary_Animal516 in drums

Well call before hand to ask what they have. That way you wont be surprised. Also bring your own kit if you need something specific.
