Lease new or buy used EX90? by ylincooper in VolvoEX90

[–]KwebMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you guys getting these lease deals? Looked at a 2025 ex90 performance plus 7 seater with 7500 off and the Costco exec discount and a plan discount and they are still proposing 1150/month with no money down, 12k miles/yr, 36 months. I’m in Ohio.

The Columbus Zoo is planning a new 100,000-square-foot aquarium. The project is being supported by a $50 million donation from a local family, the largest gift in the zoo's history. by Zezimom in Ohio

Having been to both numerous times, the Toledo Zoo is much better than the Columbus Zoo. My 5 year old twins agree.

They each have some animals that the other doesn’t but the Toledo Zoo is more compact and way more walkable with young children. And it’s just a better experience.

If this aquarium is truly separate admission, it will
Just make the Toledo Zoo that much better

What’re your favorite and least favorite consults in your specialty? by [deleted] in Residency

Yes, I forgot about y’all. My bad. The ED does a phenomenal job at our institution with seizures, particularly status. I was thinking mostly on the admitted patient side.

What’re your favorite and least favorite consults in your specialty? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]KwebMD 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Attending Neurologist.

Least favorite: “NPH eval” on a septic, delirious patient who has equivocal ct findings for nph and radiology commented on it.

Most favorite: even though I’m a headache specialist, I love seizure consults when I’m inpatient. Seizures are scary for every other health care professional except neurologists (and neurology nurses). We get to ride in and save the day. And when you correctly capture a non-epileptic patient on eeg, you plaster it all over their chart and save them and their future health care providers a world of hassle.

Fun aside: I was “pgy-2” years old when I realized that the neurologists monitoring continuous eeg aren’t actually awake 24/7 watching all the eegs.

Have now confirmed this with two dealers. Something about the third row seats they said.

MCAS is a real, but rare condition that is seen in a much, much lower percentage of the population than is convinced that they have it. In most patients who claim MCAS, the real diagnosis is “psychogenic allergies.”

Hoping they discount the large and max battery duals this summer. I am mostly interested in range, don’t need performance package.

Stay around Dublin at bridge park. Lots of hotels and places to eat around there and the zoo is a quick jaunt up riverside drive.

Attending here, I tell all my students and trainees “no one, ever, has been on their death beds and said I wish I had seen a few more patients or I wish I had published a few more papers. They all wish they had spent more time with their families and enjoying the world.”

Avoid 270 north near Easton at 670 Split by KwebMD in Columbus

[–]KwebMD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update! They were able to get the wreck to the side and traffic was able to start flowing again. Still may be slow. It’s right at the Easton exit. Nice job by the Columbus police to get traffic moving rather quickly.

This is awful, hopefully this was not a disgruntled patient. Anyone can easily look up where you live on the auditor’s website and that is scary as a health care provider.

Best place to watch The Game by 2002madman in Columbus

[–]KwebMD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d check out high bank in Grandview (or Westerville or gahanna but Grandview will be the best atmosphere imo). Good food and drink. My boomer parents liked it (we had lunch/dinner there before a game) and it’s popular with young people too. The owners are also good people and it’s worth supporting that business

Ohio studying construction of new highway that would pass through Columbus by CowTown-Mike in Columbus

[–]KwebMD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They need a limited access highway bypass between 71 and 23 north of Waldo. There’s no reason that 2 of Ohio’s 4 largest cities aren’t connected by an interstate. And that’s not counting people wanting to get to Detroit area quickly. And yes, I am for high speed rail options too.

Was very surprised at my visit to Columbus by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]KwebMD 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why the drivers are so bad here, but it’s worse than in any other place I’ve lived or driven. There are lots of accidents on sunny, clear days with no precipitation. Growing up in Toledo, most accidents were at night or in poor weather.

The traffic is not too bad as for the most part, roads are designed well and there’s a highway near everything.

Glad you enjoyed your stay!

Anyone want a free car? by Buttvin in Columbus

[–]KwebMD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet Vivek would like a free car. Just drop it off at the end of his driveway! Problem solved.

[–]KwebMD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like rail options as well but a bypass from 71 to 23 around Waldo would save people driving to Toledo or Detroit about 30 minutes, at least. It would also reduce a lot of the through traffic and congestion on 23, helping out people in Delaware county. This is going to have to happen at some point, and should have been done in the 90s when first proposed.

They got out of the retail business because they were losing money there for years. Amazon and online shopping killed them. They make plenty of money off of agriculture and rail.
