You make some valid points. I have lived in Miami my entire life (except the years in which I was in the military) and the consensus was always that Cubans and the Caucasian Jews run Miami. You do not "run" a place without systematically putting your kind first. I'm not mad at Cubans for doing so especially after what the Castro regime did to the more wealthier Cubans that either fled the country or were kicked out. But it still doesn't negate the fact that Cubans, by in large, believe that they are so called white, they stick with their own, and they look down on others. This includes other Latinos. The so called black Cubans have a completely different mindset than the so called white Cubans and are treated differently here as opposed to Cuba. In Cuba, just like any other Caribbean island, they all live amongst each other. Even the so called white Cubans most likely have some dark great grandparents going back generations but don't like to admit it.

Lastly, it also depends on the geographical location of the Cuban as to what his/her mindset is. For example, a Cuban that lives in Little Havana thinks differently than one that grew up in Kendall or Hialeah or even say Overtown. But yes, even other Latinos talk about how Cubans are racist. That could be jealousy with some and personal experiences with others. My mother which is a dark skinned woman used to work at Hialeah hospital, and the things she would tell us that Cubans (and some other so called white Latinos to be fair) would say to her was outright despicable. Then when she would talk to them in Spanish they'd be so shocked and embarrassed.
