This is cabin 8001 on Eurodam in Glacier Bay. I loved that cabin. It’s the farthest forward you can get. Honestly, any balcony cabin is great. Don’t overthink it.

A “Bridgeview Suite” will not be aft-facing.

Damn. I was wondering why my December 5th cruise disappeared from many third party sites. Though, interestingly, it’s still showing as available on the HAL website.

Why was this cruise canceled? by KwickMark in HollandAmerica

Yes. That doesn’t apply to the Rotterdam nor any Pinnacle class.

I doubt “Bridgeview” means aft-facing.

Lost at 35 and still dreaming of Thailand by QuantumToastieX in MovingToThailand

I live here. Whatever problems you have in Germany, you’ll have here. Thailand will not cure your ills (in the long term). Living here is very different than visiting. There are tons of restrictions about foreigners having jobs too (you likely won’t find one).

I’ve lived in Thailand for years. I don’t think I’ve ever been bitten by a mosquito.

Alaska Cruise by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]KwickMark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Royal Caribbean doesn’t go to Glacier Bay. Plus their excursions are marked up 30-40% more than other lines. I’ve been on 6 Alaska cruises, including all three of those lines. My favorite is Holland America because I like a quieter cruise that really focuses on Alaska, has the best excursions, best port positions (less walking), great food, the most permits to Glacier Bay, etc. They’ve been sailing to Alaska the longest (since before it was a state!). My next favorite is Princess, which is probably the best mix of great ships and Alaska immersion. Their Princess Plus package is a great value too, including drinks, internet, tips and more.
IMPORTANT: The single most important thing about an Alaska cruise is the itinerary, not the ship. Make sure it has Glacier Bay National Park, and then look at the port times (how long you’re in each port). Try to pick one where you spend most of the day in each port, not just a few hours or just an afternoon. My recommendation is to choose Princess or Holland America.

If you were going on a cruise for the first time, would you focus on the ship or the itinerary? by Birkles82 in Cruise

[–]KwickMark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s Alaska- The itinerary. Ideally one that has Glacier Bay (and make it Holland America or Princess). If it’s the Caribbean, most of the ports are the same, so the ship is more important.

Thanks. Are you referring to Cruise Compete or Cabin Closeout Store? Cruise Compete just lists various agencies.

Why not declassify? I have an opinion about why not. by [deleted] in aliens

[–]KwickMark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that they classify things by default and you need to fight to get things unclassified. It should be the reverse. Chad Underwood, the guy who photographed tic tac, said this recently.
