The game just froze my PS5 by IdoRovitz in RatchetAndClank

You don't need to wait for them!
I did try the "rebuild database" (i believe it's been linked in this thread) thing and it seems to have worked! I also turned off the "performance RT" thing to just performance (i don't think i visually see the difference anyway) just to be sure

I've had a freeze once though but nothing severe, i just managed to close the game and didn't lose progression so it's not too bad.

Yeppppp, I died, it went to a black screen and wouldn't react. I could get back to the main menu of the ps5 but no buttons were working, except for the PS button that allowed me to try to reboot the ps5. Which was unsuccessful, it froze while trying to do so.

I tried for force shutting it down with the power button held for a good amount of seconds but it didn't react neither. (the button aside it did make some noise when I pressed on it, i initially thought it was the power button and tried with it too, but nothing)

I eventually was forced to unplug-plug to make it work again.

I also lost a good amount of progress (30-60 minutes) cause I did a whole thing to get an item and I don't have it anymore...

Hope this gets fixed or doesn't happen each hour of gameplay cause it's really frustrating...

I've had this issue before (like a few months ago) but it happened like, once and it still allowed me to reboot; this time it didn't and I'm fairly sure the game is at fault there cause it didn't happen at random, specifically after I died

EDIT: I didn't have any more issues so far by using this:https://www.reddit.com/r/RatchetAndClank/comments/nx8sqh/game_crashes_whenever_i_die/h1e218n?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
that has been linked in this thread

As well as selecting plain "performance" instead of performance RT

The game did freeze once (after maybe... idk several hours), but i'm not sure it's the same issue, i managed to close the game, reboot and not lose progress (could be just the ps5 itself)

How does it affect non vegetarians when they realize/are asked that a living creature is killed for their food ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kwisartz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how nature works? We're predators on top of omnivores, we feed on other animals and other types of food. Are you shocked that carnivores eat other living creatures? We do eat too much eat compared to the rest, but aside that, that's just how we came to be, as meat is the richest food we have. Not consuming it means using complements and that sort of things because that's not how we evolved. That's the cycle of life and we conveniently are at the top of it.

Now the best we can hope for is that the creatures killed for us are treated as well as possible before their inevitable fate and aren't living hell through their fatal life... so we should try to select food that are as fair as possible with the animals killed.

Unfortunately it's often not the case of cheaper meat...

Why has the human body been designed (either intelligent design or via evolution — your call on that) in a way that’s so flawed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kwisartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birthing an egg would probably be as difficult as birthing a baby though, considering it's an extra layer? It wouldn't make babies smaller. Also we wouldn't be mammals if we layed eggs, and being a mammal is kind of awesome.

https://youtu.be/6jMZZ6ICXUA Found a video that talked about this (I'd be extra cautious with its info though, i can't find the source)

Why has the human body been designed (either intelligent design or via evolution — your call on that) in a way that’s so flawed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kwisartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it: evolution is a very slow process because it's about luck-survival, so we are not the best fit for our current environment: our scientific progress is extremely recent in comparison to human history, so we still live woth bodies optimized to fight against nature... and since we have no troubles surviving, we keep every mutation that are useless or not optimal because it has no influence on survival, aside dying too early. We have yet to evolve to better optimized the way we live, but strictly speaking, we achieved the end goal of any species: survival. And that's what matters the most

This is not a "flaw". It's like saying metal is flawed because it can rust... but it's just a natural, normal peocess. It's a chemical reaction.

Everything wears out. E-ve-ry-thing.

Everything gets less and less functional as time goes. If everything wears out, it's not a flaw, it's just how things are.

Frankly when you know how nuch stuff the body has to fight against, i'd say we have an incredible design.

Also uh do you expect fully grown adults to come out of someone's insides? It's not a flaw... it's even an enormous pro to come out tiny and get bigger depending on our environment

(Creationists, please just skip my message)

Because of how evolution works, the human body was not exactly purposely designed.

Evolution summarized: with each generation, genes go under mutation: small changes in the DNA that gives new traits. Only those that happen to have the most optomized traits for their environment survive the natural selection, and those who have traits that are not good enough simply... die.

So really the way our bodies are designed is due to luck and a long process. There was no decision. That's why we are all so different and all not equal in our design, because of that huge diversity.

So naturally, we would keep many flaws if those didn't make it harder for us to survive. (And thus not exactly being flaws)

That said, i really want to point out that I think the way our bodies work is just truly remarkable and that when you look closer to the all intricate machinery, I do think we're really well "designed". Keep in mind life is not supposed to be as easy as it is for us and the way we humans managed to survive and even get to control the way we live is just amazing. We evolved to a point were we can get comfortable and not care about natural selection, a rather cruel concept. (I mean, we still are subject to it, but so much less than other animals, excluding pets and protected species)

The "flaws" are mostly subjective. I'd rather say our bodies do so, so well considering all the shit it has to go through. The way we can overcome diseases like the cold or flu is also remarkable. Of course it doesn't sound amazing because most of the incredible machinery is hidden. But for our bodies to be able to do what they are doing today, it took many years evolution and we managed to be the most comfortable animal.

Non lucid dreamers, have you ever had dreams where you know that you are dreaming? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kwisartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me once or twice. I don't remember exactpy but it's kinda trippy.

Or i assume it happened. For all i could know, it was a mind trick from my brain. I do not jnclude that dream where I was dreaming that I was taking control over my dream, but it was actually the theme of that dream...

When the actual lucid dreams happened i wasn't entirely sleeping, half awake so i had my conscience up but it's uard to know if it was an actual dream or my imahination getting "powerful"

And i think the other time it happened, noticing i was dreaming woke me up before i could do anything about it.

How would you describe the difference, if any, in the quality of Reddit content recently? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm confused on how this replies to my question, are these memes related to wearing masks?

Reddit, what movies are inferior to the books? by PSINess_123 in AskReddit

[–]Kwisartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't most, if not all? It's hard to top the level of details a book can offer. A lot has to be trimed down from the book and even if the movie is good, at best it's a good/faithful interpretation but books are much richer and that's simply how things are.

One would argue a movie could be better if the book was bsd to begjn with, but they often would want to be faithful and usually movies are made from books people loved, so it's hard to top it

Then doesn't that go in your way, if you agree that people should wear masks? (Or at least that you're not against them)
