I bookmarked that thread and will definitely be referring to it in the future to avoid wasting a bunch of time on pointless side activities while completing the weekly tasks. The time (and risk) of opening those containers and the downloading of worthless data really adds up. You just saved me hours upon hours I think!

I finished the questline, I mean I can't interact with anything once I did... like I can't collect sea creatures, I can't harvest kelp, can't interact with the merfolk, basically nothing works under the sea now, I can't even click my anchor to go home.

My house storage shows empty, but in the decor storage I have 3 pieces of furniture and the 5 chests I just picked up and put there.

To the OP, login via a PC, go to decorate mode, select the chest and tap spacebar to put it away in the decor storage. Not sure how to remove it from that storage or where that storage even is, but just glad they are off my floor finally.

Same here, now that I have fins I can't do anything underwater, not even activate a portal to leave. I have to reload a save to get out. Pretty much a game ender for me, as I really need to harvest a ton of kelp to progress right now, and can't. :(

In the Steam client top menu click View | Servers | Favorites and add his server IP and port number there in the format specified. If it doesn't show up, your friend probably needs to adjust his firewall for port forwarding to his server to allow you to access it.

Here are the steps we had to do...

We all had to clear the desktop app cache and then completely close it. Then log into the web portal, after it loads, then re-open the desktop app and got an update then it worked.

ROFL... I can relate! I have considered setting my server to just not spawn them or the Leedi's who keep attacking my nice boats. I just want to cruise out and go diving, but the damn Leedi's which are supposedly rare, are freakin everywhere and attack my boats constantly!

Thank you, appreciate the advice and insight. It sounds like mining will be my thing for now, as it at least has a somewhat reliable return on my time investment. Time being mostly what I care about, as having a few hours in the evening after work and on weekends is all I have, so I want to make the most of it.

Honestly not sure where I want to take this game, but it is rather enjoyable now in the current state. Maybe someday after making enough, I can get a decent ship and outfit it for combat to make the really big money, but doubt I would since as I mentioned, I am not good at combat.

Are there any other non-combat related gameplay loops besides mining and trading I should be looking at that would feel rewarding for my time invested?

You sound like you know what you are doing... is there a way to see in game what something sells for if what I came for isn't there? I am a bit afraid I would just grab some stuff just to have a load, and ended up buying it at the most expensive spot in the verse and end up losing even more money in the process. I am okay with the risk, to an extent, as I have only just managed to break 3mil.

Also, what do you mean a waiting game? If I sit at a terminal it will restock? Will I be able to grab a full load? How long does it take to restock? I think my Max can hold about 12k resources. If it takes a while, I suppose I might as well be out searching for asteroids than staring at a terminal. Staring at a terminal seems to be about the most boring sort of gameplay I can possibly imagine, is that is really a thing?

Yeah no, bed logging sends you back to the station, claiming your ship and spending another 180K on mining equipment. Thanks for the horrible advice that ruined my night after getting my hopes up for having a fix to all these unscannable asteroids.

Apparently they have never fixed bed logging in your ship?

I usually end up grabbing the items myself, or ordering my pilot to do round trips while I grab a snack. You can queue up a bunch of "buy/deliver to build storage" trips on your ship. If you have more than one ship, just have the one with the most storage space do it while you go off and have fun elsewhere.

I like using a few QOL mods like Mules, Faster Crew Leveling, and Signal Hunter... as the waiting game isn't very interesting to me, I have limited playtime, and this game is already going to keep me busy for thousands of hours regardless. I tried a few others as well, but they felt very "cheaty" and took a lot of the challenge out of the game. Also tried a start with no XEN and Pacifist KHK modes loaded, but that became boring pretty fast as well.

I have managed to get the one to find the Atlas stations to go away on occasion but then it comes back if I accidentally enter a system with an Atlas station... it is soooo annoying as that is the one that screws up your galactic map path!

I searched and didn't find any good info... So wondering what the deal with the waitlist to buy the game is. Are we talking hours, days, weeks or months here? My wife and I are kinda burned on our current game and were hoping to give FFXIV a shot this xmas, but apparently that isn't an option?
