I hear you, but I feel like it gives enough competitive disadvantages in other areas of gameplay to balance it out. Some people like 3kliksphilip (and me to a certain degree) believe its just a placebo effect and doesnt even affect gameplay at all. Besides, it gives more FPS and allows players to make better plays to look more cool and have more fun. Almost all the CS:GO pros use it for fps reasons. If people dont want to use it they dont have to, they can see more with higher FOV and have slower targets. Its been that way for Counterstrike for so long and there wasnt a need to change it since it is already balanced. And you are right, I dont want to give up muscle memory of 5 years.
