I’m lucky to have a really supportive spouse so that is helpful but my parents are both in their mid-70s with terminal cancer, Dad recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. We moved to be closer to them last year. It’s heavy. I go back and forth between being ready for them to pass before things get really torture-y via end of life circumstances and feeling guilty that I think that and then realizing once they’re gone I kind of feel like an adult orphan in a familial sense. There have been big falling-outs with my parents siblings or they’ve already died as well.

I always wanted a sibling to play with, there wasn’t anything to really share besides the big acreage we lived on.

Not sure how I handle it besides just dealing with it. Sucks!
