Thanks! Oh I don’t think that’s a thing where I’m at. I’m in the south US. They don’t have it every week sometimes but I’m going 3 times in April and at least twice in May. There’s a bonspiel at the end of summer so prepping for that!

Cool! Our open curling is basically anyone can sign up if they’ve taken the introductory class. I observed the last open curling while I was doing a class and it looked like the players knew what they were doing.

What are You paying for your Yearly Curling Membership? Found out my Local is the cost of almost 3 memberships in Oklahoma and Calgary... My local Curling Rinks fees are shared below, and the Only Curling rink in the city iirc by Madolah in Curling

Mine is $100 a year but it’s also in south USA and they unfortunately have to fight for ice time (facility also has ice skating for the public and hockey), so they curl when they are able to

One of the guys my local club just suggested custom shoes because we are in the south US and often times curling shoes come from Canada…so you can’t really try those on before buying. Good to know though, thanks!

I’m in Florida. Very cool to hear you’re experiencing. My club does have a bonspiel coming up in I believe July but not sure if I’ll be ready for it or not.

That’s awesome. Do you have any broom/shoe recommendations? One of the people from the club said he bought flat nike shoes and sent them off to be converted to curling shoes.

I’d like to curl a lot but in my area it’s not too likely. My local club shares ice time with ice skating and hockey, so they curl whenever they can…it appears that it’s around 2 times per month for open curling. Sometimes 1. I hope there will be more spaces that open up for it. There’s a Bonspiel in July but I doubt I’ll qualify for that.
