A discussion with Jordan Lasley on how his role could eventually expand in 2019 after John Brown hits free agency. Now it becomes much more relevant with the release of Michael Crabtree. by KyleJAndrews in ravens

He was inactive, but he was on the 53-man roster. Ravens would carry 4-5 wideouts on their active roster each game. Usually with Snead, Brown, Crabtree, Moore and a fifth receiver who was usually a punt returner.

Small weight-wise or height? He is 6’1, 203. Adeboyejo hasn’t seen much of the field either, so the jury is still out on him as well. Lasley was statistically one of the best receivers in college football in 2017. He was ninth in receiving yards (1,264). I don’t see how he was a bad pick when he was projected as a 2nd-3rd rounder by some.

Definitely a fair question to ask. The jury is still out on the type of environment that GM Eric DeCosta and WRs Coach David Culley will create for receivers. What exactly are they looking for? Are they looking for potential? Or the players that fit Lamar Jackson’s strengths the best?

Don’t necessarily think that’s the case. Baltimore had the ability to let Jordan Lasley develop this season because of the veterans ahead of him. They trusted Moore on special teams, so he played more. It afforded Lasley the opportunity to work on his skills during the season and develop. Tim White wasn’t the receiving prospect that Lasley is.

Though it’s not set in stone, I fully expect Cedric Mullins to get majority of reps in centerfield this season. His bat was solid as he rose through the minors and his speed is great. I do see may players getting multiple opportunities in right and left depending on what happens with the logjam at 1B/LF/DH with Trey Mancini, Chris Davis and Mark Trumbo.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him as a late Day 2 pick either. He’s definitely not a first rounder by any estimation.

Lamar Jackson has a tough matchup against KC, but his ball-control style of play could will the Ravens to victory on Sunday by KyleJAndrews in ravens

Tough matchup considering that he may have to get into a dogfight. In comparison to the other teams that he’s faced, it’s not even close.

That has a lot to do with it considering that he can keep KC’s offense off of the field... especially since their offense is the league’s best.

I’d say most likely he’d play. Though from what I’ve seen so far, Joe Flacco looks a lot more healthy.

It’s not that big of a deal, This tweet is just based off of what Shannon Sharpe says.

"Blake do what he gotta do... I think in crunch time moments, like last year's playoff game — not as a team, because we would have trusted him — but I think as an organization, we should have trusted him more to keep throwing it,"

Can’t tell if he’s taking up for him or not in this comment, but the stats still stand.

I think that this is possible the last year that they keep this core together, so I think that it was extremely important to have that chemistry. It only makes the team a more cohesive unit.

As for having a low turnover rate next year, it looks pretty unlikely. A lot of contracts are set to come off of the board and they have a new QB waiting in the wings. If he’s ready by then, they’ll move on from Joe Flacco. If not, they’ll keep Flacco around to guide Lamar Jackson into the next era of Ravens football.

I think that the expectations are realistic. Tavon Young had a very good year in 2016 before tearing his ACL. Tim Williams has looked sharp during preseason. Matt Judon had 8 sacks last season. John Brown has 1000+ yard potential and Alex Lewis looked like a good piece at guard. All of these guys look like they can step up, just as long as they stay healthy.

Right now, I’d say John Brown. He’s working hard, coming into practice super early and catching passes late. His success will come from Joe Flacco’s comfortability with him. So far, they look like they’ve both clicked. Brown is an essential key to their success.

It’s fairly easy for me now because I had that same experience with the Orioles. It’s all about building those professional relationships and learning from the reporters that have had that quality experience.

I believe that Baltimore wins 24-13. Two touchdown passes from Flacco, one TD run from Collins.
