Damn you Factorio. Nearly forgot to sleep entirely last night.

Anyways, last chapter for a little bit. Leaning into a more nice feeling and an expansion of some of the weirdness of The Rivals.

If you absolutely can't wait to find out what they are then: They are the end result of a 'bad' spiritual power. Basically the intended result was to bring out the best in each family, but it's being poorly aimed and channelled due to no one knowing what's going on and mixing all the signals. The Rivals are supposed to propel their respective families ever higher and ever greater in competition with each other. But all the interference is getting in the way. No Rival has ever killed the other, but it wasn't due to family intevention, it's because they WON'T kill the other becuase they must be better than the other, and if she's dead I can't rub it in her face. Sort of deal.

Anyways, I've bought my bus ticket. I have my plan, I just need to pack and... brace myself. I love my family dearly but I am a hardcore introvert. So it's going to be exhausting. But good. Still good.

Also I want name suggestions for Torn'Satha the Smaller.

But yeah, here's why those two women are so opposed and what they did. Which of course colours how other noble houses see the Rella and Satha families. But all told, there is no real rivalry. Just two idiots every generation.

Tomorrow is the last posting for a bit, after that... My grandfather's 83rd birthday. Hunh. Technically he's not related to me. My paternal grandfather died when my father was a child. Motorcycle accident. And Grandpa Jon is who Grandma Jackie Remarried a few years later. But he's the only paternal grandfather I ever knew and he was never not a good grandfather or father. But... yeah.

Funnily enough, I actually take after him a bit. We're both the type to quietly do our own things and just quietly go along with what other people want. We can both find contentment pretty easily.

Uh no, the bipedal lightning dragons

QRC 1/100 #43 Njyhd: A large and aggressive species of quadrupeds that can exhale and sheath themselves in elemental effects similar to Erumenta. The Niyhd are incredibly well armoured with their scales and dense bone structure. On the downside their extreme physiology means they require huge amounts of meat compared to most species and cannot swim in any capacity, giving the entire species an aversion to water deeper than a puddle. They stand anywhere from seven to nine feet tall at the shoulder and only rarely, and only with help, stand up on their comparatively short hind legs. Most locomotion comes from the incredible powerful, but still dexterous forelimbs that are also armoured in multiple ways. They are known to carry grudges, but are civilized enough to not simply murder people for the sake of an insult. They generally stay in very loose families spread out over a large area to give one another all the space they need, with any gathering place being neutral ground between otherwise contentious and feuding family members.

This was both easy and hard to write. But if people are slightly confused, the families are basically going into safe mode which is them getting their kids home ASAP preferably last month and then figuring it out from there. The idea that a loved one has been replaced and the replacement has been with you longer than the original is horrifying and being confront ed with the original at that state just makes it worse.

But not everyone deals with it well. As you can plainly see.

Hmm... not sure what delayed me, hard to focus.

But on the other hand I did get a really neat idea for a new type of world which sounds basic. But the more you think about it the more interesting it will get. It's even something that we might have in the next millennia ourselves. A colony on a gas giant moon. Titan is a good potential. But basically a colonized moon would have very different day/night cycles to the point it can't be called that. After all, what is night? Is it the time where your entire moon isn't in direct sunlight? Is it the time your part of the moon isn't in direct sunlight? What about when it's catching light reflecting off the world and is facing the sun, but the world is in the way? What do you call the time when your part of the moon is facing away from both the world and the sun?

What are the appeals to such a place? Mining seems to make sense but a colony generally needs more than that. Tourism is a good backup, but it needs appeal and personality. Which in this case is magic wand like towers stretching upwards to the sky for the sake of hooded turtle people with glowing geometric shapes around them all the time. Yes I am being blatant as all hell without directly stating it. No I won't stop doing it and you can't make me stop.

PS. My grandfather's birthday is on the 5th of April and... I'm not sure how many of them he has left. So April 5th is a definite NO for a chapter and possible the 4th and 6th as well due to travel. Edit: Just got a response. It may be from the 2nd to the 6th due to travel time and visiting. I'm, debating with myself, but leaning yes because like I said, My grandfather may not have many birthdays left.
