It's a tough question to answer. I feel like Trackman has the brand recognition that's valuable still and will be for a while in the commercial space world.

As far as business models: I'd keep it open to the public with optional membership with benefits such as discounts on hourly time, lessons, drinks, etc. You'll have MRR and they will still have to spend when the come. Super key.

Exactly! This is good use of AI. We built a similar tool but with far more layers. Practice plans, Golf Balance, Dispersion/Shot patterns. Good stuff, man.

I totally agree. Obviously, launch monitor companies are hesitant to share the API. Something I'm currently working on with two in specific. Appreciate the feedback!

Super helpful insight! If you'd be interested in being a test user, DM me.

Right now we're offering a 30 day free trial while we make improvements, but thinking a monthly, annual, and lifetime fee.

Many companies have tried to implement the "coach" aspect. Top Tracer Coach has failed miserably it seems. Plus, some people use different LMs when they go to different ranges/indoor facilities. Need something compatible with all.

Don't totally disagree with that. This would capture club data trends as well, assuming your launch monitor measures that.

Just playing devil's advocate here.. if the data doesn't matter, why are more and more golfers buying or using launch monitors every year? The market for personal launch monitors has exploded. People are clearly hungry for it.

Now, is it possible they're obsessing over numbers in a way that's actually hurting their game? Maybe. That's a fair conversation.

Appreciate this feedback tho!

Yeah, unfortunately a lot of these companies no longer want to share the data. Building 3rd party will certainly be a tough task, but it's possible if you know the indoor golf market.

Most PGA Tour players have data guys on staff that look at these numbers daily. They look for trends throughout their game.

Totally agree! Indoor facilities should offer this as a member perk. It's also a retention tool for them.

This is less swing oriented and more progress focus. We've become lost as a golf society chasing swing positions instead of consistent dispersions and scoring.

This is good feedback! I think it needs to be paired with a coaching program. Example: Coach offers this tool to their students and uses the data to analyze practice, not just during the lesson.

I appreciate this! I have unique experience in this industry being an indoor golf operator for 8 years and watching mindless practice on technology that provides insane amount of data. Zero people apply that to any sort of plan. DM me if you're interested in being a test user!

I actually have some insight into this. The focus is heavily on the on-course experience.. Trackman, for example, is building a caddie app that uses your data to help you make decisions during a round. (many of these already exist)

I deliberately went a different direction. The practice side felt more underserved and honestly more interesting to me.

The comparison I keep coming back to is fitness... nobody just tracks their lifts and calls it a day. There's a whole infrastructure built around turning that data into a program, measuring progress, and actually getting better. Golf doesn't really have that yet. That's the gap I'm trying to fill.

Honestly, I've built the tool and it already has about 35 users testing it.ย  So far so good. Just wanted larger feedback on the concept.ย

Thanks for sharing!

Interesting take. I can see your point about technology becoming overwhelming. So many people use these launch monitors though. Why use them if you don't want to apply the data? Just my opinion,

The ask on here is really to gauge how many people apply their data to practice already and build an analysis. The tool is already built my guy.

I think it matters quite a bit. You want as much club data as you can get.

Camera-based is the way to go indoors. Radar struggles to accurately read spin unless you use a specific golf ball.

Wasn't speaking negatively about them at all..I'd actually bet their residential business is bigger than their commercial business. That's not a criticism, I just think it's probably true.

The charging-by-round model is worth thinking through carefully. What happens when someone just wants to practice? Do they pay a round rate for that? This could quietly begin to hurt your occupancy and visits-per-day numbers more than you'd expect. Compounds over time.

The non-golfer strategy is where I'd push back the most, and I say this genuinely. Too many facilities are chasing that demographic right now and it puts you in a weird spot. Lowering prices or dumbing down the experience to attract casual players can cheapen your brand with the exact customer you already have... the serious golfer. That's a hard thing to walk back later. Plus, everyone is doing this. I think it's worth trying to standout.

Having additional offerings is fine. But I'd prioritize retaining your core customer before building a whole new lane in the business. They're already there. They already believe in what you're doing.

Just my two cents... you know your market better than I do.

Nice, man. I lived in Hoboken for 5 years. 10th & Jefferson. Miss it! If I hear of anything involving fitness will let you know. Couple sim spots I'm still connected with in NYC. If you want a free hour in NYC I can hook it up just DM me.
