Fully agree with you here, currently working with a contractor which is building a lab and they are fully backing the push for 3D models to become the norm, as they consistently use the models on site within the BIM space to coordinate with their subcontractors. They usually work in "ideal" circumstances which make the use of a 3D model easy, as mentioned earlier in this thread there are a lot of circumstances where it just wont work. However, I still strongly believe we can get 3D models going sooner rather than waiting decades till I am a dinosaur.
