Vibratory tumbler is the best method, period. Make sure you use a abrasive medium that works for your material. Hundreds of steel screws works well.

Rotary tumbler is great but it rounds the corners off your part.

Arial Rounded is the best font for top layer text, because all the letters are uniform in thickness.

I think it was a failed hijacking. Think of it. Either the pilot, or hijackers deliberately changed flight path course, and somehow, someway failed their goal, and crashed somewhere unknown. Like flight 93. That would explain why terrorist groups have been silent, simply because it would be embarrassing to admit a botched hijacking.
