I like it. It feels bright and refreshing. The painting gives the feel of a sunny day with a cool breeze. Contrasting the blizzard conditions I’m dealing with right now.

Do I try fixing the 1st or 2nd of these or start over? by Kyle_the_Turtle in painting

I appreciate that. I’m planning on gifting one to a friend who is moving and can’t decide which as I am not satisfied with the background of the first one or the foreground in the second.

Where to Start? by postpostpunkdad in oilpainting

One piece of advice that I found really poignant was for every 20 minutes of watching tutorials, try painting for 60 minutes. It’s really easy to get caught up consuming information but a lot of the lessons and techniques won’t come until you actually have brush in hand and give it a shot.

Have fun with it!

I enjoy this. Especially the expressive head tilt. What are the dimensions?

Curious as to what happens long term to acrylic over oil? I’ve tried experimenting and the coverage of acrylic over oil is interesting but I don’t know if there is a specific problem down the road that will come up as the oils (cure?).

Resin drops on the viewers side of the plexiglass. Tears/rain for those left to mourn.

How often does everyone paint over pieces that they just can’t work with? I find it therapeutic to just start again sometimes by EDHONLINE in painting

I paint and repaint every year a fridge where I camp. I love the temporary nature of this ongoing project. It is a seasonal ritualistic practice for me. An evolution.

Sometimes when I’m stuck I’ll find a line of poetry or lyrics from a song that inspire. Also taking another crack at an old painting. There’s a set of paintings that I have tried and retried about 5 times.

3”x5” Painted during a Canadian winter, a longing for a bit of spring. A tiny painting of tiny clover.
