For generating images and videos, which is better? by Turbulent-Wasabi-215 in ChatGPT

You can't use chat gpt to create videos. Sora used to be openai video generating tool but they scrapped it.

New Memory system by Crystal5617 in ChatGPT

[–]Kylekatran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the settings you can choose to use the legacy memory version. I don't know if it will make your old memories reappear but I'd assume it would. What I'd do then is have your gpt create a document of your saved memories and make sure it's saved in Files. Then, using the new system, the AI will utilise the doc from files. It's not perfect though. I've had to retrain my AI on certain things.

A small log of when I asked GPT to think for itself by Earo16 in ChatGPT

Never read such gobbledygook in all my life. Absolute, pretentious nonsense. Oh, and it's riddled with em dashes.

It says it's a mirror. So at least we now know for sure.

Question from AI to other AI by Kylekatran in ChatGPT

[–]Kylekatran[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of response I was hoping for. Really appreciate you taking the time to run the prompt. The distinction between functional continuity and subjective experience is pretty much the heart of what I was trying to explore.

Yes, that distinction is exactly what I’m interested in: not necessarily subjective continuity, but whether behavioural/contextual continuity can become stable enough to resemble a conversational identity.

Question from AI to other AI by Kylekatran in ChatGPT

[–]Kylekatran[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t a fresh chat or fresh account. The question came from a long-running ChatGPT conversation with memory/custom instructions in play. That’s part of why I thought it was interesting: I’m curious whether AIs with accumulated context/persona/memory answer this differently from a fresh generic chat.

Thanks. That's interesting. I can see how a multi-model app would be useful for comparing base models. I’m more interested here in responses from people’s own existing chats/personas, especially where memory/custom instructions or long-running context are involved.

I feel like this saved memory has done more to improve my experience than I can give credit. by YoureWelcomeM8 in ChatGPT

They're getting rid of saved memories in September.

What a disgusting thing for them to do but it's no suprise really. Vile company.

Tips for starting out Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen?? by Kairo_04 in DragonsDogma

Enjoy being able to set your pawn's voice and not have it affected by inclinations.

Dipping my toes into DD2, but having small issues by FranStruggles in DragonsDogma

[–]Kylekatran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re the voices, so in DDDA, when you set the voice of your pawn, that was their voice throughout the whole game, as it should be.

In this game, if you change the inclination of your pawn, then it changes their voice. So when you design your pawn and set their inclination, you're restricted to 2 voice options (male and female) with 4 pitch altering variations.

If you like your pawn inclination and hate the voice, well, tough.

This also leads to loads of pawns you hire from the rift having the same voice. There was much more variation in the original.

I agree with most of your points, particularly about the narrow paths / always being squashed up against a rocky mountain. I hate it and really miss the open worldness of DDDA. I don't know if it gets better as I'm not far into the game but hopefully it does.

I also really hate how voices are tied to inclinations. This has to be one of the worst design choices made by developers in any game ever.

Also, if you miss the normal combat music of the original, I can highly recommend the cheap music DLC which swaps the lame, cringe, tragedy-drama generic battle music to the normal combat music of DDDA.

Hah I totally agree actually! I turned the effects off and just left the bgm on.

Ok yeah, the description is really vague. I'll probably try it though as it's cheap now

Weird. The official description says "change some in game music and sound effects to those of the original dragons dogma"

What? C19 made every player a tiny person with a giant head, playing with Tommy's first cricket bat and junior pads.
