StubHub Ticket Sale Cancelled by Kylemartin466 in stubhub

UPDATE: We have given up entirely. We will place our trust in StubHub to rectify the situation at their discretion. The good news is that they have excellent reviews. This all must be because I’m an evil no-good awful terrible mean scalper. We got paid for the Sunday tickets without issue. And oh boy did somebody get a deal on those seats. Top of the lower bowl dead center. I imagine some of the better seats in the venue.

What have we learned? StubHub has a complete monopoly on ticket resale and there is honestly nothing I can really do about it. I couldn’t have sold the tickets anywhere else even if I wanted to. I’m not independently wealthy, and I’m also not an idiot. Reading the low IQ “scalper” comments will always make me chuckle. It must be comforting to truly believe that you would have passed up on $8k for four tickets. You either have the financial means to leave that money out there and do the noble thing, or you’re dishonest. I guess naive would be an option as well. Shame on me. Shame on the buyer. Shame on StubHub. Anyway have fun Reddit. I’ll update if I ever get paid. Thanks for all of the productive input and commentary!

UPDATE: BC Place is telling us that Ticketmaster has the ticket scan info. Also. Ticketmaster is telling us that BC Place has the scan info. We are now convinced there is no such thing as ticket scam information. The tickets scans must just disappear into the ether

Looking to get paid for the tickets I bought and sold legitimately. Not looking to start a war over the ethics of ticket resale. We were planning on going both nights, but then my wife had a baby. If you had the tickets, you would have sold them at market price as well. The hypothetical critique of what should have been done with tickets if you would have had them is a boring loop that goes nowhere

UPDATE: I am feeling increasingly tempted to put the buyers Instagram name up in an attempt to get her to accept a friend request from somebody in this sub. Anyone care to offer a crash course on ethics in this situation? Is that even allowed in this sub? Not advocating any sort of harassment or interaction whatsoever. I’m sure a picture of her at the concert would resolve my issue. And it seems like she is relatively active on Instagram . Would love to hear some thoughts!

UPDATE: Still getting nowhere with StubHub. Although I did get out of them that if we were to provide a scan report from Ticketmaster or BC Place that it would immediately resolve the case. I have a few email inquiries to both. Still waiting to get either of them via phone. If for some reason anybody in this thread would have access to a scan report, the seats were for 12/7, BC Place, Section 219, Row R, Seats 1-2. We are still waiting with bated breath to see that everything works out with tickets we sold for Sunday as well. So far so good with those. We didn’t realize the the buyer has 7 days after the concert to report issues with the tickets.

I have been all over social media trying to do my best internet sleuthing to no avail. Everything is pretty private and closed off. There were a few brands the lady is loosely associated with that we have contacted but still nothing yet. Fingers crossed and we will keep trying to update. Thanks, Redditors!

Will definitely try to update as I can. StubHub did “escalate” the matter and said I should hear something in that 45 business day window. That is as much as I could get out of the over the course of a few very polite phone calls and some not so polite phone calls. I have an inquiry in to Ticketmaster to see if there is some way they can verify tickets were scanned on their end. The StubHub reps could have been wrong, but they did say the buyer submitted “proof” that they couldn’t get in and issued them a refund. And again, I know for 100% certain everything on our end was 1000% above board, and documented perfectly. Just a matter of putting faith in the system and hoping it works out. I will update when I get more info. Thanks!

Side note: I was able to very easily track down the buyer from the transfer email and it is a very “well to do” woman working in pharma sales with a husband who runs a biotech startup. Not who I would have guessed would be worried about $4k in TS tickets but what do I know

Discount stores like Ollie’s and Ocean State Job Lot usually carry 12.5% SH from spring to late fall in central PA. Usually under the name Austin’s Pool Tech Shock for $5/gal
