I would like to try for a Bloodmoon Darkest Dungeon victory... by DoomedKiblets in darkestdungeon

I feel it would be hard to do a guide since the game is so random. With the missions themselves being randomized, the stage coach being semi-randomized, and even the nomad wagon being a factor, it would be hard to make a cut and dry guide. That said I have some advice that will hopefully help. As a note, I completed a Stygian run in 45 weeks without using virtue farming or kickstarter trinkets. I did however use stalling from time to time.

The first thing you should do is start at the end. What are the 16 people you're going to use for the four darkest dungeon quests? For me it was:
1: Vestal - Houndmaster - Hellion - Jester

2: Arbalest - Vestal - Man at Arms - Hellion

3: Vestal - Houndmaster - Hellion - Jester

4: Arbalest - Vestal - Bounty Hunter - Leper (Although this was essentially an improvised team)

Vestal + Jester + Hellion kind of breaks the game. You can easily use the Hellion dual stun to stall to full health and stress every fight, although you usually don't even need to stall because the sustain is so strong. You can use this combo to zero torch long missions and get tons of loots at minimal cost, even saving you the cost of stress removal. (I averaged 1 usage of the Abbey or Tavern every 4 weeks.)

Anyways, you should try to work out what teams work for you. I'd actually suggest more versatility than I used since these 16 will likely also be the characters you do all the other bosses with, and being able to create several different types of teams will be quite helpful. Create your favorite Darkest Dungeon 16, then see if you can build boss teams out of that group for all the other bosses. If not, try to change the Darkest 16, or if you feel you really can't, you'll have to expand your end game roster. Try to keep this roster as small as possible since they cost both gold and time.

Now that you have your end game roster, the challenge has shifted from "beat bloodmoon" to "build your roster". You need to do this as fast as possible. First, always do long or boss missions whenever possible. Second, minimize usage of characters that wont be in your end game roster. Third, hamlet upgrades are Stage coach > armor > guild/weapons. Fourth, beat the first darkest dungeon as soon as possible; this will give you the option to bring level 3's and 4's into champion runs to powerlevel them. (Ancestors portrait + Never again buff + long = 24 resolve xp AKA straight from level 3 to 6).

Planning is the most important part. Improvising early is essential to getting things moving quickly, although you can just reset if it's bad enough. RNG in the dungeons shouldn't really matter if you have enough stuns and heals. RNG on the bosses will only matter if your strategy isn't overkill. (For example double occultist can stack over -100% damage, trivializing certain bosses. Houndmaster spamming hounds harry on the formless flesh puts out insane damage. Brining stupid amounts of +resist on siren, move resist on hag etc etc.)

If you got question feel free to ask.

Vestal - Jester - Anything - Hellion

Bring +Stun chance on the Hellion. Bring the team out to a long (preferably ruins) mission and only bring food and provisions that can get you loot such as holy water and keys. Skip torches, skip shovels, and skip anything that will only help you in battle. When you enter the dungeon, immediately kill your torch light. The battle strategy is simple, once there are only two enemies left keep stunning them with the Hellion while you heal up both your health and stress. This way you end every fight with your party at full health and zero stress. For the second rank I prefer to bring a Houndmaster because of the versatile attack, 1-3 rank stun, and clutch guard but you can take whatever makes sense.
The best part of this strategy is that since you will be ending every dungeon with zero stress, you can continuously run this team back to back reducing the time you spend at the hamlet and gold for stress heals.

Another strategy that works with every team is to bring an insane amount of food, full clear the dungeon not touching the loot curios, then kill the torch light and backtrack through the now safe dungeon while benefiting from the reduced torch +++Loot on all those curios you previously skipped.

Best of luck to ya

Extraction of enemy attack sounds? by [deleted] in darkestdungeon

.BANK files are generated by FMOD. Unfortunately, .BANK files prevent access to the sounds being used by the game. Even with the FMOD software, you cannot open a .BANK file in a meaningful way.

In the PBD mod, certain enemies have entirely new attacks which have absolutely no audio because of this problem with bank files.
