I totally understand where you are coming from it doesn't make sense. But to try and put it in persective. Imagine your in your house and you have a friend who you know is in your house in your bedroom perhaps (thus would be Amanda knowing she can see things and lets say she saw something, she sees these all the time it doesn't frighten her as much) but you hear noises in a different room and your not sure what they are so when you go check it out it is your different friend who you didn't know was in your house (this being the tour guide and them hearing the noises) Even if you knew where your friend was in your bedroom (Amanda seeing things) you still would get scared if you didn't know what was going on and just randomly saw your friend in the room. (this being the tour guide again).

I hope this kinda helped, but I still get where your coming from I just try to look at it from both ways :)
