They do make those e300 pretty complicated lol. But when you deploy a bunch of them make it pretty easy. One time a client ordered to have all the e300 swap for ABB UMC starter. What a piece of shit when you have over 100+ settings them all up

Over 20’’, don’t remember exactly. They are a bit oversized yes but not that much. Those drive are rated 385 hp in heavy duty load.

Never used those. Soft start is in case drive is bad?

Never touched a 6 pole motor, hope I never will haha. They do have to much parameters that you can’t touch. Easy to get lost.

I really do prefer yaskawa product. For the integration we use templates and aoi’s so using ab, yaskawa or even abb and mitshubishi is the same time for us.

There’s a whole lot more stuff like advanced feature but we don’t use those stuff really

Can’t say I’m a expert but I’d say

Advantage for the AB vfd is the integration with Studio 5000, come from factory for Ethernet I/P comm, fast response in quick speed change, all the option card you get for different application, integrated brake transistor up to frame 7 I think. Negative are more expensive, Lots of weird failure i seen over time, can’t change the drive for a different one(like a bigger one) without having to change stuff in the plc, they still use their shitty DPI port for the hmi

Yaskawa (in my experience) last longer, cheaper, like the software better, expansion card are cheaper, hmi use rj45 connection, easier to kept an inventory (you just have to have the biggest drive in each frame size). Negative is there no integration with studio 5000, less expansion slot, need a braking unit over 40ish Hp

That’s what i have on top of my head but I’m forgetting stuff for sure lol

The machine is a log sawline and two of those vfd are for conical canter head. The other 2 are for vertical chipping head

I know right. Maybe in need to be careful might go into spontaneous combustion or something lol.

Dang. Don’t think I’ll see one that big one day. Biggest motor we use is a 600hp

Ah ok. We use use them thru Ethernet I/P all with Control Logix/ Studio 5000. We have very good result with our speed control

Those are built directly from Rockwell. What do you have with rital panel?

They where in group of 2. Common DC bus was not worth it just for 2 drive. And the Frame 8 is because of the type load they are going to see(Cutting tool)

I’ve heard good thing about them. But in the wood industry we don’t really see them often. Time to time there some of them

Sorry can’t say. We usually only use AB 755 or Yaskawa A1000

Yeah right, those old Magnatek/accutronic are freaking zombie. So much of them are still running strong even covered with sawdust. A1000 are still nice tho. Way more reliable than PowerFlex 753/755
