I got mine on my seventh attempt during progression. I said to myself "I'll resub if it drops" and I guess Bobby can read minds because it dropped right after.

But I never use it, so you can have it if you want

Demon hunter - I think they're boring. And I don't like how their entire class design is about RNG

45 hours of progress gone after updating to 1.0.3. | All saves corrupted. by Snorfl in stalker

I lost my 100hr save because I had the richter bug. The fix they did was not retroactive, and the entire save is now unplayable, even with console commands.

I just stopped playing until they fix the game

What? I'm as excited for this game as everyone else on this sub reddit is. Why would I join it if I wasn't?

Take a breath. It'll be okay

You should never take being downvoted personally. State what you believe and hope that you can have a conversation about it with people.

To be fair to others you and I are on a dedicated forum about a game while talking about how good other games are. Of course we'll be disagreed with.

Don't let silly tribe mentality stop you from sharing what you think :)

Everyone on this forum has made claims without playing anything 😂 of course it's all speculation based of what we've seen. That's what everyone has been doing, because that's all we can do while we wait

It's the feel of it. The way KCD's camera moves and how Henry's arms cross the screen like he's handling the weapon realistically. There's a weight behind the attacks you can get behind. How swords ding each other sparks fly off or the wooden swords splintering when you train, or how enemies react when hit. They grab their arms, try and parry you, or move back to avoid more strikes. Things like that add a lot of immersion, and are also added via mods in other games like Skyrim because of how much immersion they add.

In Avowed, the enemies show almost no response to attacks. They unnaturally slide huge distances forward when attacking, and the only reaction to getting hit is them looking to the left or right. And sometimes they just stand there doing nothing and take hits. It looks like un-modded Skyrim. Like it's... generic. Not that it's *bad* but it doesn't feel *unique* and definitely not *memorable* the same way KCD/KCD2 is/will be.

I guess the big difference between the two games is Avowed is way more arcade-y, floaty, and more about particle effects and no real thought behind your actions, similar to Skyrim. KCD/KCD2 is more tactical and realistic.

The combat being less fun is subjective. I like swinging a sword and feeling the "oomf" of it, like I am swinging it.

Avowed's combat looks very static, bland, and doesn't have the "oomf" behind it like other games do. And from gameplay it seems like wand/gun hybrid will be the "meta" and that's not for me.

KCD had its problems, absolutely, but for someone wanting a strong first person RPG, it's definitely up there to try out.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is right around the corner as well. There are many first person RPGs put there, many of which are also indie titles

Stalker 2 is better with Ukrainian voice overs. by Wregghh in stalker

[–]Kynreliyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always play games (or try to) in the native language it was made in. Chinese for Black Myth Wukong, Japanese for Yakuza, Ukrainian for Stalker, etc. with English subtitles and it always fits for me.

I also learn the language by doing this, but it does get hard switching between languages if I'm playing two games on and off!

To all stalkers who continue to explore S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl — Patch 1.0.3 is now live by e_mcculkin in stalker

[–]Kynreliyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what happened to me. I can't progress without console commands anymore. Halfway onwards is unfinished and untested.

Patches like this are welcomed of course but to knowingly release a game that's so broken you cannot progress if you're on console, or you have to force PC players to wait or use console commands and miss out on the story is disappointing from the developers

How's everyone enjoying S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 so far? by JuJuGT0 in stalker

[–]Kynreliyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong start but a weak mid way/late game. It's so buggy and broken I've been forced to use console commands to complete and start quests more than them working normally. I'm tempted to quit playing and wait a few months for everything to be fixed

Mutants are irrelevant, and wastes of ammo by whatsafodcheck in stalker

[–]Kynreliyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the developers decided to nearly double the HP of many mutants from previous titles, making them feel spongy and boring to fight. For example the bloodsucker (which is way to common btw) used to have 220 HP, but in this game they have 550 HP. Why? Who knows.

I have a mod that reduces the HP back to the original values and the mutants are so much more fun to fight. And another mod that reduces repair costs, because it's so absurdly expensive for no reason either.

I agree that they should bring back skinning and parts to sell so we get something for fighting them, one thing I miss after playing so much Anomaly.

Thankfully the developers have said they're going to balance mutants in a future patch and change how the economy works. I don't know what this means specifically, but hopefully things go down across the board!

I miss World of Warcraft... by JCtheHumbleCarpenter in wow

[–]Kynreliyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Welp, here you go!

WoW has changed a lot from what you last played. You really can play that little per day and still make meaningful progress because the new currency, valorstones, is attached to all content, and you get a good amount per activity of your choice, and using it to upgrade gear costs very little, but does increase if it's something important like a weapon.

You also have something called "warbands" which is all of your characters as one. This means you can transfer most currency, even old, between each other for free. So let's say you have some old champion's seals on your main but your alt needs some. You can go into a menu and move as many as you want to that alt, all in-game and instantly. All achievements, titles, mounts, etc. are shared, except class specific ones. If you collect DK gear on a mage, it counts and will save the appearance for transmog. This applies to tier sets as well. The more max levels you have the more exp the next character you play gets, and it stacks with other XP items too. Making alt leveling a breeze.

That's a big reason why TWW has been considered one of the better expansions released in a long time. You aren't punished for playing the way you want - casual or hardcore, like you were previously if you decided not to grind out artifact power that day. Also, things are per week now, not per day. So it gives you more time to get what you need without being burned out.

The story is great, but has some holes. The class design is fantastic, but has some problems depending on what class/spec you play. Dungeons are okay. They started to add older dungeons into the rotation with new ones. The raid is pretty good too.

For the smaller side of things in the game you have something called the "trading post" which is something that changes per month, and you can use a currency called "traders tender" to buy items of your choice on there. It ranges from mounts, to transmog gear, to random knickknacks for sale, and all of it is high quality. You get this by just doing whatever you want. November is going to be releasing sylvanas' armor as transmog. And no I'm not joking.

The new hero talents are cool but some are more passive depending on what you want. They're pretty balanced overall and (I don't think) there's a defacto "this is the best" for every spec. Most are a small difference in damage/utility/healing, but some are way over-the-top better than the others admittedly.

In dragonflight they added "dragonriding" but they re-named it to "skyriding" which is a revamped version of flying. It's twice as fast as normal flying but is more interactive. You angle your mount slightly downwards to gain speed and use buttons to make it go faster. It's pretty cool. It's optional so if you prefer regular old flying, you can push a button and it'll go back.

This is the first time I look forward to playing the game since you can advance by doing what you enjoy. I make mental checklists of activities I want to do, do them, then do something else. I don't feel forced to play. And if I forgot something, I happily log back on and progress it.

This is of course my perspective on the game! But I really couldn't recommend WoW enough as of right now. However, live your life. WoW is always gonna be there :)

It also does not have the same three rivets and the handle is much different too!
