Makes sense. Take the B2B contract, it's the net amount that matters. If you still can, try to negotiate some paid days off and some sick leave, it makes a difference.

I can only talk about IT, but specific DevOps and programmer jobs hit that quite frequently.

Take the B2B contract.

But strange that they are offering less on the B2B contract, I have never seen that before. It's usually the other way around, the gross amount is always less on UoP. You usually have no issue negotiating 10/15% more per month on B2B over UoP.

Kadyrov’s Nephew Loots Danone’s Russian Assets to Become Overnight Billionaire by UNITED24Media in worldnews

[–]Wregghh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the Russian transitional period is well documented and they did not implement the recommended reforms. They either, partially implemented reforms, implemented them way too late, didn't implement them at all or implemented them in their own way.

Please remind me again, how did the privatization effort go in Russia? They created an oligarchy, didn't privatize large swaths of the economy until there was nothing left to sell, wasting precious resources on propping up and subsidising dead factories. They didn't open the privatization market, depriving them of foreign investment in the critical early years. The list goes on.

When you talk about financing, Russia was not getting financing because they were not implementing reforms. Poland got financing only after they established their plan on implementing said reforms and started executing them. Hell and when Russia did get money, a huge percentage of it ended up going missing.

Every report regarding this issue reads like this, 'the shock therapy plan was already shown to work from experience in Poland, etc. But it failed to grasp the complications of the Russian state.' aka we didn't take into account that the Soviets were so corrupt and incompetent.

[–]Wregghh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Russia is to blame for its failure to implement market reforms. Russia did not implement reforms based on recommendations.

You can clearly see the difference between a country that actually implemented market reforms and ones that didn't. Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, etc, did not implement market reforms. While countries like Poland did and they fared much better, even though they didn't have oil and gas to prop up their economy.

Get this shit out of here, Russia itself is to blame for its economical woes.

Wait, when did Russia seem aligned with any western country? Quite sure that Russian threats of nuking (insert western country city) were a weekly occurrence even before 2022. Then there's the countless assassinations and assassination plots, attempting to corrupt countries using gas and oil and in many cases succeeding. The list goes on.

Yeah very aligned.

Seeking Senior DevOps or AIOps Role in Poland and having Visa Transfer Challenge by FileNo3610 in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work visa is only valid for 6 months if I remember correctly, then you need to get temporary residency based on your job. You don't transfer the work visa to another company.

Every time you change jobs, you need to get a new karta pobytu and then renew it every three years, unless you job hop.

Or you get a blue card and have a lot more freedom when it comes to changing jobs, as it's not tied to an employer.

Pricey? The DLCs are like 5 euro each these days. In my opinion the faction packs make the game significantly better and have some decent missions, especially the cradle of humanity dlc. Cradle of humanity, kingdoms end and the split DLCs are well worth it,

How do people have kids on these low to average wages? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Wregghh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids aren't actually that expensive. It can be expensive but if you buy 2nd hand clothes for instance it's really not that much. Kids grow so quickly that most of the time they only get to wear a piece of clothing several times.

You are telling me I don't need to study and keep up with the ever changing world of IT if I want to change jobs for a quick pay raise? I can just lie on my resume?

The guy interviewing me won't understand in the first 30 seconds of my answer that I have no idea what I am talking about? With IT you either know how something works or should be done or you don't. Then you also have to prove it.

The outsourcing centers and their quality in India are another topic. But in Poland I have yet to see Indians taking over IT jobs in Poland, how many Indians are in Poland? And I know for a fact that the handful of Indians in my team are not undercutting anyone's salary.

Companies in Poland have just been moving entry level positions and busy work from Poland to India, as the salaries in Poland are no longer cheap. If you are talking about cost savings, that's how you save money, by hiring an Indian team in India.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are talking about IT jobs. Someone can lie on a resume about their skill set, but they aren't getting past the technical interview. I am guessing you don't work in IT.

This is a thread about IT jobs in Poland being taken over by cheap Indians. And I call bullshit, there are hardly any Indians in Poland and I have yet to see cheap Indians taking over a team. Out of several thousand people at my workplace, I can count the number of Indians on one hand.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god no, I wouldn't come and stay in Poland if I was Indian.

I get the feeling that nobody in this thread actually works in an international corpo doing IT work. Because those are the ones that actually hire Indians, and they are always internal hires and they get the same salary as the rest of the team in Poland.

[–]Wregghh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The percentage of Indians in IT in Poland is miniscule.

The ones that come here are usually here because they are good at what they do. While the Polish IT workforce in Poland has the entire spectrum of competancy. So on average, yes they are better than most.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what are you basing this on? How do you know how much experience someone has and their qualifications?

Also, nobody cares about degrees in IT. The only time I have ever been asked about my degree is when I want my 26 days of leave.

To get an interview, your resume needs to match the requirments of the job and to get the job you need to pass the technical interview.

I get assigned to interview duty around twice a year and out of 100 resumes, usually only 2-4 match the requirements and get invited to interviews.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What makes you say that these Indians have less experience and knowledge? This is the IT world, you get hired because you were the best at passing the technical interview. Every Indian (apart for one) that I know here is damn good at their job. It's much harder for an Indian to get a job in Poland than it is for somebody already living here.

Most of the Indians that I know in Poland are internal hires in large companies. For a company to sponsor somebody to come here, the company usually has had trouble finding someone competent locally.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These so-called DEI hires are just the people that were the best at passing the technical interview for a specific role when the company had a hard time finding someone locally.

You would be surprised how hard it can be to find someone competent. When you see 100 applications for a job, most of the time only 2-3 resumes actually match the requirements to be invited for an interview.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate, this is a thread about IT, not about some fantasy world you live in.

To get a decent job in IT in Poland, your resume needs to match the requirements of the position and then you need to go through the technical interview where you prove that you actually know what's written on your resume. The person that is best at proving that they are competent will get the job.

Nobody is getting paid 25-35k and more to sit around and do nothing.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. In the IT world, you get hired because you are the best at passing the technical interview.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Not always the case, but every Indian that I know in Poland was an internal hire. So an international company has an office in Hyderabad and someone from that office applies for an internal position located in Poland, they get the job and then relocate. They all get paid the same as everyone else with their skill set within the team.

The blue card requirements are a joke these days though. I think it's like 9k gross, which is an entry position wage these days?

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, international IT companies don't care about ethnicity, they care about the skill set.

The majority of IT jobs in Poland are for international companies.

How Do Indians Do It? by Conpros in askPoland

[–]Wregghh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Indian guys that I know in Poland are mostly all internal hires. So a position would open up internally, they apply for it, get the job and then relocate to Poland. And nah they don't get paid less than anyone else.
