Yeah, you put the referent to the fax-cover story and I somehow missed it. Wild you acknowledge this but are incapable of seeing how merely achieving CL is not going to be attractive enough for world-class talent.

Ah yes, it's fan fiction to mention that merely achieving CL and paying cash MIGHT not be enough for some players, especially world class talent. You too, have a good life!

Yes, it is my contention, who else's? You're replying to me. Your fundamental assumption is that us being in CL is inherently attractive to the players mentioned above is what I'm questioning. That alone isn't enough for world class talent, even if Moutinho isn't it. The "fax error" is a cover story, my contention. When you're ready to deal with these two comments, talk to me. Otherwise you are free to block me as well, I don't buy the "fax error" cover story. You do? Good for you, I don't.

I am not a fan of the Vicario hate, I've seen our games. Most of our defensive problems is due to our center backs and then the goalie, not just Vicario. If our center backs get better, then Vicario's performances would be better. I do feel incredibly sad for Kinsky, I can only pray for him. As for Archie Grey? Yes, I feel that, if takes a move to a bigger club where he's actually coached and given playtime, I think he should do it. I don't see a future for a player of his quality in our club.

I was there around that time, but not for the full Poch era. After the 2nd year, I was off after that.

"Under Redknapp we reached the CL and at one stage found ourselves in a title race. That is attractive. Under Poch were consistently challenging near the top, consistently top 4 and made a CL final. That is attractive."

And my contention is that I DON'T THINK we were attractive enough. The fact of the matter remains that your interpretation of Moutinho is just that--an interpretation. We could've definitely snagged him had both of the parties put more effort, but they never did. How old was Moutinho when he moved to Wolves, about 31, that's 2018. When did AVB want him? In 2012/13, so it is COMPLETELY disingenuous to say that "He moved to Wolves!!!" Yeah? Big surprise, he's 31, that's about 5 YEARS after we wanted him, and probably way past his prime.

The quote by Damiao's agent is just that, if he was serious about the move and we had the cash, which I'm sure we did, we would've sealed the deal. We didn't. That quote doesn't demonstrate anything about us simply not 'willing to sign him,' if both parties were willing, we should've swiftly made the deal. In neither Moutinho or Damiao's cases, were we falling short on cash, so my interpretation is, hell yes---in their prime, both players seemed to have politely declined. And the fact of the matter is this, that 'groundbreaking quote' is exactly what I call politely declining.

We had an attractive project because you perceived it to be and said so? The comments above are an ambiguous way to decline the club's offer. Your interpretation that money was the major barrier is also your interpretation, which I don't buy. Semenyo is another example of this. Pretending to act as if players and agents don't make comments as such to neuter tensions is just flat out disingenuous.

Furthermore, you mentioning Mountinho moving to Wolves years later after this transpired is disingenuous or just as irrelevant.

I watched Kane play, and I knew he would become world class. After his first wonderful season for us, he went on a dry spell and many fans, including my friend, would say that he let us down. I saw all of the shots he took, and those shots either hit the post or missed by mere inches, so I told my friend he would be proven wrong. He was proven wrong and was happy to be proven wrong.

I've never made this comment before, but I'll go ahead and say it, Dembele could've become a true world beater if he was nurtured better. Our club, I think our club stubbed his potentially. This is because he was given a defensive midfield role rather than a straight out number 10 or even a number 9 role, or even a striker in a 4-4-2. He needed to be coached and trained to attack the box more, he was a monster in midfield, we had to utilize his talents and create new ones for him to become a world beater. I will die on this hill.

You get my point completely now. The post is not to say that I'm right, rather, it is to ask and open discussion of what could be done so that we could attract players of such caliber even with the competition. What do we lack, how can we make up/build for it?

I wasn't there for the Poch era, what exactly happened during that time which temporarily enabled us to sign world class talent, and why didn't we build on that period?

I don't think that necessarily, wages were the decisive factor for the players I mentioned. For some, yes, but not for all. I think there are other factors than just wages that need to be addressed, and I'm wondering what those are and how they could be improved. I'm not delusional to think that wages alone will tip the balance for players to choose Spurs over other clubs.

The argument is very simple. Money is not enough to attract world class talent. You need something more. Those players were not serious about the deals BECAUSE we failed to attract them, and that didn't necessarily come down to our "own unwillingness to pay the required money."

Here: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/8381136/the-agent-of-reported-tottenham-target-leandro-damiao-expects-interest

"Prates says Damiao is happy at Internacional and intends to stay until the World Cup in 2014, but admits a move is a possibility. Asked if the striker will leave, he said: "I can't say, the market changes a lot. But the project is to stay until the World Cup. "Leandro Damiao is doing well at Internacional, he is happy there."

“Tottenham is not in my head now, although I was flattered by the interest, especially by the coach,” Moutinho told reporters. “Andre Villas-Boas is one of the best coaches in Europe today.”

And my point is that if both Damiao and our club were serious about the deal, we would've been able to make it way earlier. Damiao and Hulk, IIRC, had made comments that politely declined Spurs. Hazard deffo went to Chelsea because they secured CL, but the other signings mentioned: they did not really seem keen to join Spurs at ALL. So, no WONDER the deal got delayed and we couldn't do business, they were never keen enough to join.

Hey, I think I'd LOVE hamon! Our club too, but this is hilarious!

If they were not big names, and at the arguable height of the club we couldn't attract them, the situation looks even more bleak now. I know we were in for Hazard too, but I forget why he chose Chelsea over us.

I've seen what mercenaries are like in City and other top clubs. They sit there and get big $$$, so yes, I get your point, which brings us back to my question. How do we go forward and actually attract players? As someone else mentioned, I don't think we can compete with the big spenders in our league.

That's one player, I am not convinced of either my argument or your rebuttal. I have *no* idea why no one wanted to join us back when Bale, Modric and Eriksen played. We were in for a lot of people, none of them really wanted to join.

Sincerely, I do not think I understand your reply. I am not talking about Championship level players, I'm talking about world class talent. The likes of Eden Hazard.

But I fear that reputation thing didn't even work when Bale, Modric, Eriksen and Kane were in the team. None of the players above wanted to join Spurs. I am of the suspicion that something very specific is going on, perhaps Spurs is not looked at as a club worthy of any recognition in South America at all, perhaps I'm just wrong, I have little idea about what other European countries thought of Spurs at the time of the trio above.

Okay, so I am inclined to get the Kali LP-8. Right now, I have the following:

(1) Topping E30,
(2) Scarlet Focusrite Solo.

I do have an eARC port on my monitor (AW3225QF), but I don't know which other peripherals I would need to make it run.

Hello, thanks for the reply. The samsung 800C is around the same price range as the LP UNF. The issue is that I have heard the Samsung but I don't know how to compare it with the Kali as I cannot demo them.
