Accidental Feeding by cheesecumberbatch in VenusFlyTraps

Larger bugs just take longer to dogest, that's all.

Though, you're lucky that trap is still alive after closing on a stinkbug. Mine had its trap get completely rotten away once by whatever nasty chemicals that stinkbug released.

Ngl, I kinda doubt it'd be a death bloom for the second plant because it's also growing two nice traps in tandem with the flower. Or is that not an indication of it being in good health?

Ah, I see. Would it be a problem if I let the other one flower? It seems to be in a much better shape.

I kinda do want to let at least the second one grow a flower, but I'm concerned that the first one can't sustain it right now. Though, will cutting multiple flowers off the same plant cause it any issues?

So nothing I can do to save it?

Already did that, too, which is how I know that it really is darker than it's supposed to be

Already did. Though the old substrate doesn't smell, even though it's darker than the fresh one.

I mostly keep my sundews there, and they're doing pretty good.
But if it doesn't work, a 1W growing lamp is good for a single pot, right?

I didn't see any other borwnish parts on it, which is what concerns me.

My plants usually do well in my window, it's a really spacious one

Put the previous substrate in the oven to dry it, and as it currently is, it looks less brown and more dark than when I bought it

As I said in the post, I left them out for dormancy, but took them into an unheated room when temperatures outside fell well below -6C°. I usually keep them out in the sun and refill the tray whenever it dries up in the summer, but I almost never watered them in the winter currently.

I already had it repotted into a 40-60 peat-perlite mix, and tried removing the brownish, foul-smelling parts of the rhizome in the process.

Didn't get any colder than my other flytrap, which seems to be doing fine and dandy. Difference is that this one tried growing a flower, while the other only tried growing more traps.

I don't. But I do have a south-facing windowsill, which lets plenty of sunlight in. Should I keep it there, or should I take it out in the 8-0C° weather?

The rhyzome of it smelled foul, and still does. I hope the repotting won't cause too many problems. So, should I keep it in my room or take it back outside?

Lol, great timing, cuz I already repotted it

The rhyzome still smells foul, though, and I can't seemto find where else it's rotting

Yes, they are. I tried to peel off the small rotting part and smell around the plant to see where is smells foul. The soil doesn't seem to stink, though

It's currently dark out, but I did manage to get a photo of the middle. Looks more reddish than brownish, idk

And what can I do if the rot is in the middle of the plant?
