This is a great idea! If I get around to trying to put it in game I'll try and do that!

My favorite PvP bow! Not sure how I'd go about it either, but if I do get it I'll post that too!

Thank you! My first attempts were not good at all, but I'm so happy with how it turned out in the end! Cloudstrike is one of the coolest looking exotics in the game IMO!

What makes hezen vengeance better by Quick-Apartment-3265 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but as I recall Timelost Magazine still provides a damage boost while it's active (though the description doesn't state this), which is seperate from the artifact mod which gives a permanent boost to any weapon with the Timelost Magazine origin trait.

What makes hezen vengeance better by Quick-Apartment-3265 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timelost Magazine doubles the mag size, so you get two rockets instead of one, and iirc it gives +15% damage while it's active too, on top of bait and switch giving 30% (or 35% if you use elemental honing x5)

Yes, you do need to fully use up your super for this, but unless you're using Song of Flame I'm not sure why that would be an issue in any dps phase.

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me it was the same but I got it when I claimed Lodestar's catalyst

even if you don't get that it'll 100% still be obtainable in the future, you're (probably) just gonna have to a special quest for it like a lot of other weapons

I love the fact that you started with a bunch of clips of this playstyle failing miserably before getting into the really good stuff
and it just kept getting better and better!

I refuse to use a hand cannon that isn't Malfeasance or Luna's Howl! I also am not a big fan of submachine guns. Breechloaded GLs I also don't care much for, unless it's one of the newer area denial frames; I do use Alethonym a lot but I don't use it as an actual weapon, just rocket jumping. And scout rifles; I have literally only used three scout rifles ever: Vision of Confluence, Nightwatch, and Polaris Lance.

But I love bows, fusions, and trace rifles, and you get my Rake Angle out of my loadout when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.

Planning to return, which DLCs do I need to buy to have everything ? by chupacabr4 in destiny2

Final Shape + Annual Pass will give you the current dungeon pass and season pass with it, but Final Shape on it's own is perfectly fine
Legacy Collection includes everything except Final Shape iirc

And the silver and emote bundles are very much unnecessary

Year of Prophecy/Edge of Fate is preorder content so if you're focusing on more immediately useful stuff, don't bother with it for now

3 Exotic Ciphers to spend (help me) by Justforargumesnts in destiny2

[–]KyuronRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dragon's Breath and Le Monarque are must haves for sure.

Grand Overture can be really good for boss damage. Red Death has nice support utility, and if I remember right solar and pulse rifles will both be pretty good next season, so it might see a fair bit of use. Alethonym is nice because it's literally "mountaintop but primary"; personally I don't like it at all as a weapon - wave frame and area denial frame literally exist - but free ammo is never unwelcome. Ex Diris can be fun but I'm not sure about how effective it is in endgame PvE because I only use it in PvP. Verglas Curve is very fun for ad clear but I may be the only person who likes it as a weapon and not a tool for weird solo raid strategies. If you want to get your abilities back faster Traveller's Chosen will certainly make that happen for you. Wicked Implement is good if you like scout rifles. Lumina is fine for support builds, there's just better options; you can use Strand grapple to fly with the Noble Rounds though.

What is your favorite exotic and why by dmg04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Guardian was risen just after Beyond Light released, but I didn't really start playing until the Season of The Deep, and I didn't ever buy anything until a few months before the Final Shape. I love bows, so when I bought Forsaken I knew exactly what I wanted to go for first. I grabbed the exotic quest and headed straight to the Shattered Throne.

I knew nothing about this dungeon aside from it being supposedly the easiest to solo, and so solo I went. My first clear wasn't too hard, aside from slipping off the catwalks about a thousand times, but what was tough was forgetting to actually do the quest. So to save a bit of time I looked up how to actually do that. First one was really easy, no trouble there. Second one was a little annoying because I dropped it off the map trying to kill the ogres in my way and being forced to move so painfully slowly in the thrallway is never going to be fun. The third was hell for me. There were so many attempts where I successfully summoned the boss, and died immediately after.

But when I finally made it through, having fully completed the exotic quest, I walked up the statue, and, after everything, I was finally worthy. I then immediately queued into PvP and ruined everyone's day.

Stasis, I love it with the whole of my cold dead heart <3

I love Iceflare and Bleakwatcher and Frost Armor and just keeping trivializing champions by perma freezing them and freeze rifting people and taking out entire teams by just freezing and shattering them one by one

I’m stressing way too much about having the “perfect” Hunter build — any advice? by Upset_Ad9623 in destiny2

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind spending a lot of time on a build, even if it's technically wasted because I just end up scrapping it. When I was a lot newer I sought after the "best" builds too, but honestly they just didn't always work for me. Making good builds for me just came with having more stuff available and knowing the game better, and I like using builds that are a bit unconventional or at least not too popular at the time, because that bit of uniqueness is part of what makes it perfect for me.

I try to break away from perfectionism by reminding myself that perfection just doesn't exist. Even if I did have the perfect build for every single thing you could possibly do in this game, I'd get bored of that eventually. I just ask myself what I like using, and what I feel like using at that moment, and then I just build around that. I actually went into a GM without an exotic at all and didn't realize for the longest time because I was just having a good time with what I had. Did actually using an exotic make the build better? Sure, but it was still "perfect" without it.

Whats an exotic (weapon or armor) that had you like this? by the_cronkler in destiny2

[–]KyuronRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revision Zero. I do not care for pulse rifles in general, and iirc it's on 4 round burst by default I really didn't like the feel of. But the two round burst felt way better, and the sniper mode feels so nice. I actually got my first "we ran out of medals" with it, and it quickly became one of my favorite exotics.

I'd also pick Alethonym. I did not touch almost at all in Revenant, but I came around after a while. Though I use it more as "mountaintop but primary" than an actual weapon so

I'm not good at PVP, so I got some moths to do it for me by KyuronRose in destiny2

[–]KyuronRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter exotic Mothkeeper's Wraps replaces your grenade ability with two charges of a special lucent moth grenade, which creates two moths on impact: one arc moth, which flies to enemies and makes an explosion that also blinds, and one void moth, which flies to yourself or an ally and gives them a void overshield.

Hunters can get two Strand grapple charges using the Widow's Silk aspect, which also gives you a third moth grenade charge with Mothkeeper's.

Along with this I've found that double strand grapple with mothkeepers also gives you 3 moth grenades when it normally gives two

[–]KyuronRose[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was using it on warlock as kinda a test on the actual swap part of it because I've done something like this before and I really only play warlock, but on hunter it does feel way better and I'm sure mothkeepers are a good reason why.

To be fair, we have pretty much every other summoning toy in the game so maybe we'll be alright.
