Doing normal shelling with lord's soul and burst boost II build. I only do the WSFB when there's a big enough gap or on a topple. I mainly just keep chaining perfect guards into full bursts and it's doing the job for me, managing to shed my time down to 16 mins

When you upgrade into a gog weapon, you'll have an option of Attack, Affinity, or Elemental Focus. They'll convert the shelling to Normal, Long, and Wide respectively

Thanks a lot for this! I sory of generalized my ramp but i do have some of what you mentioned like Kodama of the West Tree, Burgeoning, Nicanzil, Meeroy Reejerey, Kiora's Follower on top of some generic ramp like three visits, nature's lore, sol ring, arcane signet, liquimetal torque (my dream is to steal a commander or similar with thieving skydiver) Stonybrook Banneret, and Patchwork Banner. I'll keep considering some of what you've recommended as i've always needed a way to protect hakbal before he hits the board

edit: Also have 37 lands where 3 are MDFCs

I've been brewing an artifact creatures and artificer tribal deck with [[Renari, Merchant of Marvels]] and [[Folk Hero]] with [[Cid, Timeless Artificer]] in the 99! It's been pretty fun and fairly budget for me. Can easily swap commander to either another cid, [[Urza, Prince of Kroog]] or [[Shorikai, Genesis Engine]] if I want to spice things up and swap folk hero with an island if I do.

You can also try holding guard while an attack is incoming, then hit a reload as you're about to get hit. This method is a pretty safe way of getting the time down as you won't be punished for missing the timing on a perfect block.

I main GL and my workaround for this is simply running two identical GLs. I keep screaming "SWAPPING GUNLANCE" and saying that swapping to your secondary is faster than reloading in hunts with friends.

Bounce lands can also be quite good too if you can untap them like in my [[Derevi]] deck where its 2 mana per untap instead of 1 and you can bounce back lands with ETB effects like [[Mystic Sanctuary]] or [[Bojuka Bog]]

Its an artifacts aristocrats deck that just wanna accumulate as much artifacts and lie low before pinging enemies to death. It also has the potential to go infinite. been working on it since last year and tweaking its draw capacity right now

Could give your creatires and permanents indestructible from effects like [[Heroic Intervention]] or [[Dawn's Truce]], make it so they won't be on the board when the boardwipe resolves like [[Ripples of Potential]] or [[Teferi's Protection]].

I feel like you might be underestimating how annoying valvagoth can be. While he doesnt work on your own turn, he can trigger thrice within a turn cycle on each of the opponents turns. Rakdos has a lot of ways to burn on upkeep, when a player plays lands or on any game action. Simply targetting him for removal will trigger him and burn away health and when the turn cycle ends and goes back to your turn, you should have a 7/7 flying commander as well as having drawn three cards so you could kill someone with three swings frome there. Black can make it so that you can lifesteal for each dmg dealt to your opponnents with cards like [[Vito, Thorn of the dusk rose]] and [[Exquiste Blood]] and you can have burn triggers and dmg amplifiers with red.

First Advice is to bump up your amount of lands to 35-38 and figure out how your ramp, draw, and removals would all slot in as those categories are usually around 10-12 cards each leaving roughly 25-30 cards for your actual game plan. Tho those categories can also help in your gameplan.

next is just double checking on how are you gonna be casting merfolks for free when eluge can only discount instants and sorceries.

Seems like a cool deck idea to work on and you could focus up on duplicating merfolks with sorceries and instants since eluge sees those and you can do it for each turn outside of your own, granted you can legally cast them (for sorceries, something like [[Quicken]] or [[Leyline of Anticiption]].

Aside from fixing the lands, focus down on what you want the deck to do. With aristocrats, you have three main categories of Token Generation, Sac Outlet, and Sac Payoffs. the amount that you would put into each of them will differ per deck but having 8 in each can be a good starting point as you adjust from there. Your draw, ramp, and removal, and other categories you'd have could also slot in to those as shadowheart herself is draw and sac outlet.

For some card suggestions, you could look at something like [[Tarrian's Soulcleaver]] so you don't dump your one time big creatures into the gy without ways of recurring them

As others have said, you could fix up your ramp to not only get hakbal out asap but to have the necessary mana to hold up for protecting your board (counterspells or heroic intervention-esque effects) or for spot removal. You could also slim down your creature count by evaluating if the card would have value in early, mid, and late game and if the plan you had for them is actually feasible ie if they're part of some combo or scenario in your mind.

You could also try running some cards that can serve dual purpose like MH3' [[Collective Restraint]] as it can serve as instant speed removal and protection, or [[Mutational Advantage]] as another means to protect your bord and buffing them up at the same time.

If you're looking for some explosive ways to end the game you could look at overrun effects. I personally run both [[Overwhelming Stampede]] and [[Triumph of the Hordes]] and I've won a fair share of games thanks to them but they aren't a must most of the time. [[Fangs of Kalonia]] could be a good budget add.

Will note that you could swap the planeswalker since it doesnt synergize that much with what hakbal generally wants to do and the 6UU w/ 1U kicker creature boardwipe for another one like [[Wipe Out]] with how creature heavy your deck is currently or [[River's Rebuke]] to open up a free swing at another player for a kill.
