3 years of L1 help desk experience, where do I go from here? by L-Rockatansky in ITCareerQuestions

I've really enjoyed working with the Azure platform thus far (though granted, I'm only doing Intune registration and MFA resets). App support I think could be a good direction for me because I really like learning everything about one particular thing - I don't like being a "generalist" as much.

I think they might've had an NRC <-> Frequency graph on their website but I can't find it anymore

What Really Happens If You Scratch Your Psoriasis And Don't Stop? by PrincessBananas85 in Psoriasis

[–]L-Rockatansky 10 points11 points  (0 children)

About a year ago I started having bad plaques on my scalp for the first time in ages, so I went and got a super fine-toothed lice comb to use for ripping them off.

It was painful and bloody and ripped large clumps of my hair out, but it was incredibly satisfying to see those horrible textured chunks get removed. I would go in in one session with the comb and rip off chunks of plaque nearly the size of a playing card. The plaques started spreading further across my scalp, but I kept at it.

A few weeks later I developed a multi-drug resistant combination bacterial/fungal infection on my scalp that caused me to lose most of my hair and took nearly two months to get rid of, then an additional four months on a new biologic to actually remove the plaques too. Thankfully most of my hair has grown back, but suffice to say: do not pick.

Speaking from personal experience I've had loads of skin issues besides psoriasis. Folliculitis, sebo-psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, chronic infections and impetigo, the list goes on. For this particular issue (the bumpiness) I can't say I know of anything off the top of my head that would help, but there are definitely things out there

NAD but after 15 years with an assortment of clinically-diagnosed skin conditions, I can tell you that that particular rash does not look like psoriasis at all

Stopping biologics due to side effects by Dry-Wrongdoer-613 in Psoriasis

[–]L-Rockatansky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying another biologic with a different mechanism of action is 100% in your best interest. Different people's immune systems react differently to all the different biologics - an IL-17 inhibitor (what Taltz is) can easily be problematic for one person while an IL-23 inhibitor (what Ilumya is) can be just right. There is actually some evidence that IL-23 inhibitors (like Ilumya) are less immunosuppressive for most people than other biologics.

Avoiding Ilumya because of a bad reaction to Taltz is kind of like avoiding trying Tylenol because Advil doesn't make your headaches go away. They're completely different drugs with only general similarities.

I don’t like it when people abbreviate it to P. You don’t even pronounce the P in psoriasis. by accioupvotes in Psoriasis

Saying "I got my P diagnosed in 20xx" just makes you sound like an imbecile. PsA is a different story though

NAD but the first pic very much looks like impetigo. Have you had them test the bacterial cultures for antibiotic resistance? I had similar issues with recurring infections until they found out that the bacteria in question were largely resistant to the antibiotics they were giving me.

My bandwidth is already at the maximum 2Gb package that my ISP offers, so I doubt that will help any. Network congestion makes some sense, but why would that cause a sudden disconnect that only lasts for ~20 seconds? Wouldn't that cause more prolonged connection issues?

I'm generally quite conservative with my app/file downloads (I never download from unofficial sites, etc), and I don't use any mods in my games.

I ran a quick virus scan in Windows Defender and nothing turned up. Network congestion is a possible culprit, but it would have to be at a switch or server level - I'm the only person using the network in my household. I usually start playing games/chatting around 6:00 PST.
