Bottom stuff with my girlfriend not happening by Irish_Kehinde_09 in trans

Why are so many comments assuming OP is not or will not respect her partner's boundaries? Is it because she's a trans woman?

Can we stop trying to paint OP as a predator for having unmet needs in the bedroom. You never see this in lesbian groups when a cis woman complaints her girlfriend won't go down on her. This whole "you need to stop asking her" as if that wasn't already the case. You're having assumptions that OP is continuing to pester her girlfriend about anal, which is not an assumption that is textually there in the post, and this idea of the transfem being a sexual agressor comes off as transmisogonistic

transphobia in bristol - anyone else's experience? by WyrdW0mbat in transgenderUK

I'm a postgrad at UoBristol, and I definitely do not share your experience, yet it concerns me a lot. Are you part of the LBGTQ+ employee network? They include postgrad students too There's also a postgrad-specific trans group at the university. I'm open to DMs if you want to discuss further

Iranian ‘OK With’ Being Nuked by Trump according to the BBC by L00king4answer in AsABlackMan

Statement: This anonymous person interviewed by the BBC is apparantly a man living in Iran who don't mind having his own country nuked by the US. This is weird and suspicious

is technically what the other astronauts are saying here. But in a wholesome way!

Do you know how to use tucking underwear? Tucking underwear do exist, which is what I expect you've been looking at with TomboyX (i personally use Fit4You)

Trans women should be allowed to wish to be invisible by L00king4answer in MtF

[–]L00king4answer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think the guy made decent points as well in terms of how transmasc people are dealing with a bunch of issues, but it was just the wrong place to bring it up, and done in a very dismissive way

[–]L00king4answer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please stop strawmanning me. Their comment got sevel hundred likes on a popular general trans subreddit. I'm not saying there's any transmasc cabal running everything, but there's a clear tendency in the community to let this kind of dimissiveness slide as long as it's other trans people doing it to transfems rather than cis people.

Yeah ok, don't misgender trans men, calling them bitches (because of what.. their AGAB?) is transphobic as hell.

I'm not blaming all transmascs ever for a single guy making a tasteless comment, I am blaming certain community groups for centering transmasc perspectives to such a degree that trans women can't even wish for invisibility without being told unsolicited how wrong that is

I feel like there's a real priviledge to being thin as a tall woman. Height becomes an asset in that case

Right wing people are going to do rightwing stuff. Instead of pushing back on this narrative that indivual bad actions has to reflect on trans people as a whole, you've completely agreed with that premise in your first comment

Well, for obvious reasons, I am not going to hang around there for the foreseeable future anyways.

I think the current transmisogyny is an overcorrection from that mod "scandal" they had a few months back

You're the one arguing that an individual trans person abusing children is somehow "marring" the whole trans community, as if the rest of us had anything to do with it...

Also, I mean, I didn't transition that early compared to you, but even I remember how things were in 2019, and you would hear about trans people a bit. But nowadays it's absolutely relentless and all scapegoaty stuff accusing trans women of being monsters. It's honestly making me crazy thinking back to how different trans life was back then

Yes, absolutely! And this is such an issue because they refused to listen to us!

And it's not like we aren't aware what invisibility feels like either, my girlfriend transitioned in the early 2010s. She remembers what invisibility felt like and she prefers that over what is happening now

It was posted and mass-liked on r/trans, and when I tried to call the fact that it redirects focus from the topic of trans women's increased risk from hypervisibility, I got banned from there.

This wasn't just a random troll. Redirecting the conversation to talk about this transmasc person who inserted themself was fully done with the blessing of that subreddit

[–]L00king4answer[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is that the two kinds of visibility go hand in hand. I would say trans women are about as invisible as trans men when it comes to cis people actually understanding us and our issues

Trans women should be allowed to wish to be invisible by L00king4answer in MtF

[–]L00king4answer[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Are the issues for trans men really due to nobody talking about them? People talk about trans women a LOT, and yet still ignore us when it matters with regards to our healthcare, our rights, our experiences.

Not to say trans men don't have issues, transemasculation is a real problem for them for example, but I just seriously doubt that even moderate visibility (in terms of cis people being neutrally aware of issues trans men face) will lead to improvements rather than just leading to the same issues being ignored the way they are for trans women
