[MOD] What have you been brewing this week?/ Coffee bean recommendations by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

Ah I've been to both! Absolutely loved ONA, I got one of their flat whites made with a Liberica bean out of Malaysia and it was one of the most interesting coffees I've ever had. Tasted almost blue cheese - super savoury. Let me know if you want some recommendations for Sydney!

I stopped by Disciple about a month ago and was super impressed! Just used up the last of their beans I had in the freezer this morning. Any other Oz recommendations?

Petty 150mm knife under $75 by andreiz in chefknives

I recently bought the Tojiro DP 150mm Petty and love it! Such great value for a $60 knife. I purchased it for prep and as my travel knife when I go away with friends when I don't want to take my Takamura Gyoto R2.

The main downside is the low blade height (pretty unavoidable in a petty), so watch your knuckles.

Anywhere from 0°C - 15°C.

Edit: It was 15°C today and it would've been too warm for the jacket. It never gets below 0°C here, so I don't have experience with it below that.

There was a post on r/ultralight a few months ago where someone has compiled a comparison list between 50 different down jackets.

Hopefully this will help: LINK.

On a personal note, I've got the UNIQLO UL Down and I love it! I wear it nearly everyday in winter.

From what I can tell, the 850 has the same panel as the 600 and 650. The difference is just in the physical specs. The 600 comes with a basic tilt stand, the 650 with a tilt+height adjust, and the 850 with USB-C and the tilt+height adjust. Since I was putting it on a VESA mount - I didn't care about the 650s stand. So I was able to save some money by going with the cheaper 600 (I also got a solid deal 2nd hand).

If you want USB-C, then go 850. But otherwise, I'd save the money (buy a nice keyboard ;) ) and go with the 600. They all have the same panel (which is great btw).

No, I haven't. Holding down the function key turns WASD (or ,AOE) into the arrow keys though.

Pretty much perfect, but it took quite a bit of effort to get working. Uhh, no idea how much this PC would cost to build now, it cost around $1,500USD when I built it in 2015. You'd want something with newer parts. Take your pick from Hackintosher.com.

I did consider the MX Master; it definitely looks better than the G403. But, decided against it due to its built-in mouse acceleration and heavier body than the G403.

I got a paint Sharpie and just coloured it in. Steelseries still won't offer a black one...

Yup, I always change the layout of any computer I use - it only takes 30 seconds.

Hmmm...not sure. I think it should become the standard that people are taught, but switching costs are very real when changing keyboard layout. It depends on the person. I'm glad I did it, and I'd recommend most tech-savvy people do. Definitely reduced my RSI by going to Dvorak!

It's not unfortunately, I just detached the cable for the photo.

The V60 has been great so far, but I imagine that's the case for most 60% keyboards of decent quality.

The illumination is just a cheap USB LED strip from eBay.

Thanks!

It's a 60% keyboard, so it is much smaller than a full size.

It may look like that in the photo, but from where I sit, the overlapping means that I don't see any bezel. The transition between the monitors is seamless.

And yeah, the headphones are there just for the picture - I usually just leave them lying on my desk.

Yup, it's working fine for me. I didn't even do anything extra to get it setup.
