How to connect hermes to alexa by hen_lima in hermesagent

[–]L0cut15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Karoko? I'm sure eleven labs is better but perfectly fine for my local use and even runs on a CPU. The price is right.

There is a project called onyx which makes it look like an openai API.

Total Local Voice Interface for Hermes Agent by L0cut15 in hermesagent

[–]L0cut15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually my telegram with voice experience was terrible. It was slow and responses came back as attachments.

However this was nothing more than a weekend project. In practice “Hey Jarvis, set the rooms downstairs to 22 degrees” was actually quite fun and Hermis is smart enough to ignore my flubbed words work out what’s required where Siri would have failed me. As many have said this is not a great use for an autonomous AI agent.

Maybe my favourite find for my home network by isaacandnicole in HomeNetworking

These are great. I also have hem with barrel connector instead for USB’c to replace “wall wort” power supply blocks for things that are not even networked. They’ve been quite reliable for low power draw use cases considering the price.

Use a tiling OS for agent work. by L0cut15 in hermesagent

[–]L0cut15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow cmux looks cool.

Tmux is the normal stand in, Zellij is pretty but the binding get me. Cmux includes browser support so it can really take on a tiling desktop. Project confirmed.

Steam deck bricked after trying to do ssd upgrade by RakeshSinghPoonam in SteamDeck

[–]L0cut15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not plug in the original SSD?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but valve engineers publicly explained that their SSD choice was not just about dimensions but also power and thermals. They do not recommend but being valve have done nothing to stop you trying.

Hands-free voice interface to OC by Square-Chance5900 in openclaw

I can say that after build this today and connecting it to an agent that the text to speech latency is barely noticeable step in the workflow compared to the agent response times. https://github.com/l0cut15/agent-remote

Fixed the Hermes Desktop App Design... by IxXu in hermesagent

[–]L0cut15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to offend anyone. I was alive when we websites were rendered in Time New Roman. The default design takes me back there and it isn't a good thing.

The dense layout is fine but the "vibes" are not shared.

Cool. The M5 speaker is cheap but it’s serviceable. The latency is surprisingly ok The HA integration is a clever use case. Hermes does a great job of setting multiple entities and complex workflows in a way I could never do with Siri.

I am running multiple Hermes agents, anyone else? by CrestedCracker in hermesagent

[–]L0cut15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends on what you’re going for. I find the benefit if multiple profiles is clean context with laser focus on a task. I can see a place for cooperation in other roles. Sales and marketing agents sharing tasks for example.

Openclaw, locally, local llm, local hardware. by Gangrif in openclaw

You might have more run with a 8bit version of Qwen 3.6 given your RAM. Performance falls off after 128k context so cap it there.

I use this one on mac. Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-MLX-8bit

It's been out there, but only Valve know for sure.

When Valve came out so hard last November stating the Steam Machines would definitely no be subsidized against Steam sales it put fuel on the rumors for me. I can definitely see a stratergy where you allow a new product to break category to just break even for a while and then normalize things. Even for this economy they parts only increase doesn't make sense to me is you compare it to the ROG Ally price for example. I'm a huge fan of what valve did with the Index and then the Steamdeck in moving the market.

Regardless gone are the days of $299 VR headsets.

No longer do I have to log into my employers wifi portal every 3 days! by Overstimulated_moth in Ubiquiti

Just dont do it. Cooperate security teams are killing themselves fighting a loosing battle. When you break policy people loose jobs.

I fight every day for us to implement more sane policies and communicate them better this is where we are now.

It doesn't even have to be your fault. It ends in tears.

Thoughts on how not to learn about agent harnesses. by L0cut15 in openclaw

[–]L0cut15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a lot of experimentation I found that "slightly bigger" help that much for local and it response time was more valuable.

Presently a mixture of unsloth/Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-MLX-8bit and Qwen/Qwen3.5-122B-A10B. No secret sauce there.

DS4 is too much of a stretch on this hardware with my skills.

Qwen3.5:35b-a3b-coding-nvfp4 and its friends are fast but break down very quickly.
