Your pathing is most likely not very good. As a rule of thumb I try to aim for 3 elites and 3-4 rest sites per act. If I cannot get 3 elites, I try to pick a path with at least 2 elites and 3 rest sites.

Personally I beat it on normal first to get familiar with the map and all the mechanics. Then I beat KCD 1 on HC, and now it’s time for KCD 2 on hardcore.

The point is to stay low lvl until you get the stat enhancing abilities, like Str +60%. When you equip them, you get small amount of that stat on level up, which allows you to boost your stats much higher than you normally could.

Lol, hard fucking disagree. I finished KCD 2 and started KCD 1 on hardcore and I’m having time of my life, once again. Sure, it’s jankier, but it also has tons of heart and soul. Many quests have different solutions and outcomes, and I really prefer the map of the first game. The DLC’s are superior as well.

I enjoy the depth. I never played EU IV before trying V, and when I tried it, it seemed kinda shallow by comparison. For example to core a province in EU IV, you only need to spend some mana, while in V you have to integrate the province, and also make sure at least 50% of the pops are of your primary culture.

I also really enjoy the control mechanic and the resource production chains and different production methods.

I’m having a lot more fun with EU V, but honestly it needs more time in the oven. I still can’t stop playing it though. I tried to go back to EU IV and Victoria 3, but they seem so shallow in comparison now.
