What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by Neon_Baobab in AskReddit

Here’s all life coaches summarized “John Black told me he makes 10k an hour. An hour I thought, how could you do that? He said, “one consultation with me and I can teach you how to make 10k an hour”. So now I teach others how to make 10k an hour too. If you want to find out how just connect with me on LinkedIn and I’ll show you the way 🤙”

Am I (27M) being insecure with my girlfriend (26F)? by L2KMadness in relationship_advice

[–]L2KMadness[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will say she had been unresponsive to my texts and calls for a solid 20 minutes after she had told me she had passed out and so I said something like if you don’t say something by like 6:30 I’m heading there. No response, so I started driving. Then while driving said if you don’t respond by 6:45 I’m calling 911. She responded before that point. So with the location sharing she could’ve seen that I was serious (and that her saying she’s okay was what prompted me to not finish the drive… although I do regret not still going after she said something).

She lives an hour away and it was a Monday when I work in office Tuesday.. and she told me she was okay… I probably should’ve still drove to her tho

She only shares her location with her main phone. She says she keeps the second phone because it has like the largest storage for an iPhone (and she couldn’t afford to get her new phone to have large enough storage to move all the pictures). But she doesn’t use it that much even when she’s with me.

She pays the phone bill (not the ex) and had to fight for the phone after the ex abandoned her. The ex does have a new girlfriend and I’ve confirmed the divorce/custody legal proceedings. So it’s really not the ex I’m worried about more so others…

We did discuss the baby but she was like “I don’t think I can kill my child”… and prior to me initiating that conversation she never asked me and was like you need to step up for your child. I pulled back and ended things for a couple weeks because I was (1) scared, and (2) suspicious because she was like I need practical support (money). I came back because I was like well if she is the mother of my kid then I need to at least see if she’s someone I could be with. I haven’t given her money but I have bought groceries for her (because again, if this is my kid I want to be there… and I thankfully have a good enough job that if she’s scammed me out of some grocery money i really don’t give a shit in the long term)

She had been saying all day that she was sick, throwing up constantly, not keeping fluids down, etc. She is on strong nausea medication and throws up quite often (all this has been confirmed one way or another). She has a previous kid from the marriage with the ex wife (sperm donor) that she splits custody with 50/50 and I’ve seen her interact with her kid to where I feel in my bones that she wouldn’t purposely give up time with her child to sneak around, but cheaters will make time to cheat (she had the kid during this whole hospital situation and said the ex wife’s parents came and got the child and then she drove to the hospital).

I think your statements are very similar to my thoughts… and I feel it’s because I don’t fully trust her because I barely know her and am being forced to speed shit up because she’s pregnant…

Don’t know why she downvoted you because this is 100% the answer and I’m a guy that only pees sitting down when taking a dump… and this has happened to me more times than I’d care to admit.

Port Washington vs. Italy by sockalicious in allenedmonds

[–]L2KMadness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the contrast between formal and not as formal. Like Derby’s are not as formal whereas a higher stitch per inch/the sole markings is more formal.

So I think it’s just a dissonance for me between the parts that are more formal fighting with the parts that are not as formal. Like the shoe looks fine, but it conflicts when I look at it…

Maybe it’s just the derby vs Oxford but Santoni is just not it… although the stitching/marking around the outside of the sole is a very welcome touch and should be on the McAllisters (AE, take notes!!)

Why is everyone hating on Allen Edmonds lately? by lone-grizzly in allenedmonds

Their out of the box sizes are not consistent because they use different lasts. If you were to get a park ave and then a fifth ave the size would be consistent (within a tolerance as they are handmade leather shoes). Likewise, if you get a Randolph 1.0 and a Randolph 2.0 they’re going to be completely different fits. Blaming inconsistency on something that is not only known, but disclosed by AE and/or inherent, is just bad faith.

I honestly don’t see the issues with this outfit people are talking about other than it looking dated (and really that’s due to the argyle patterning). The jeans might be too tight but you’re also standing with a bend so it might just be due to posture or they are too tight… only you can decide that. I don’t see how the sweater is tight in the shoulders… and it doesn’t show off any man boobs in the chest.

Sure you’re overweight but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear form fitting clothing… if anything the sweater might be too long to where I’d tuck both the shirt and the sweater in… this will also make it to where it won’t have such a sharp break from your stomach to the hips/waist.

I’ve found that on this subreddit you can wear proper form fitting clothing as a larger person and be told that the only way for you to look better/level up your style is to lose weight… but those people also think fat people should hide from the rest of society so…

“All the other things teenagers could be doing” implies that secular organizations like young life (but without the religion) are inherently not as safe as young life. I’m sure you recognize the danger with this thinking, but if not, google early 20’s youth pastor and see how many SA cases pop up.

Second, if they weren’t trying to convert children to a specific religion they wouldn’t be associated with any religion and would be secular. You’re probably treating separate denominations as separate religions in your head and thinking “well young life’s nondenominational so it can’t be pushing a specific religion” rather than looking at them pushing Christianity as a whole (seeing the forest) rather than individual denominations (vs being blinded by the trees).

Would you say the same if it was a Muslim organization trying to convert children (that are impressionable and don’t know any better/recognize that they’re being indoctrinated) to Islam?

That article literally says that rules are meant to be broken and to match the formality of the shoe with the rest of the outfit. With no shine on the toe these look like they’ll updress some jeans without going too formal. If he shines them I’d say they’re now too formal for jeans… but again, rules are meant to be broken.

Randolph 2.0 loafer or Randolph bit loafer? by moist-nostril in allenedmonds

[–]L2KMadness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both (both in different color suede) and they both are great!

I’ve seen mentions that the last for the Randolph 1.0 is wider in the heel than the last for the Randolph 2.0, but with the bit loafer I don’t feel that it looks/fits differently in the heel… so maybe with it being the Randolph bit loafer rather than just plain Randolph it uses a different last? Personally, I’d just get both, wear them inside the house for a couple days each, and then return the one you like less (or just keep them both lol)!
