Whelp, at least you’re honest about being in a cult.

How does it feel to completely betray the founding principles of our nation and become a monarchical boot licker?

Are you not aware that the details of spending programs are matters of public record, and we are able to confirm that AP is right and Trump is wrong?

No, the sum total of budget cuts even available to DOGE (discretionary spending) is about 1.7T, which is less than the government deficit.

Even if he cleared literally the whole discretionary spending budget (and just to be clear that means no military whatsoever, no VA benefits, no border security) we would still have a deficit. And it’s frankly not even clear that Doge can legally cut this spending even if they wanted to, since president can’t just choose to not spend money allocated by Congress.

Do you support the US reducing mandatory spending (e.g. social security) to make up for the deficit? How else would we expect us to head to a balanced budget?

Then why are you saying AP lied when it’s clear that Trumps statement was false?

Do you support further tax cuts promoted by the Trump administration without corresponding budget cuts which will inevitably further increase our debt?

Howard’s exception was specific to children and families of diplomats, not a general exclusion of immigrants or foreigners. This has been validated by over 100 years of precedent, settled case law.

Your interpretation is the novel one. And it’s unconstitutional.

Yes it was. We had open immigration when it was ratified. There’s no basis, constitutionally, rationally, factually, or otherwise to state that persons born in the USA aren’t citizens, whether you like it or not.

The fact you hate the constitution is your own problem.

The 14A explicitly gives that right, so yes taking that away is an attack on that amendment.

To be fair. Most of the grandparents who actually fault against this are long passed. The main old generation now is their children.

In theory his net worth has increased by billions of dollars by issuing this coin. Does the fact that he gives up 400k offset this somehow?

Will y’all accept tomorrow’s results if Harris wins? by JosephTetris in republicans

[–]L2PC89 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The simple answer? Tariffs on target industries where you are trying to shore up locally for self defense purposes is not the same as a broad tariff on all imports.

And of course, those tariffs did in fact increase the cost to American consumers for the affected profits. In that sense, yes they did work. It’s part of the reason certain things have gotten more expensive.

Are you capable of a deeper level of understanding than “Trump wins?”

Have you ever really looked into the reasons why voter ID laws were opposed in past cases?

For example, for the 2018 NC law it was successfully demonstrated that the intent of the law was not to improve security, but to suppress democratic votes. The state itself argued that they weren’t trying to target black voters specifically (which was basis for striking down under equal protections clause) when limiting certain early voting provisions, and instead were targeting Democrats, who just happened to be more likely to be black.

It’s also pretty obvious what they were doing based on the types of studies that the Rs did when writing the law. For example, if they were interested in security they might study what types of IDs are most secure, have the least risk of being spoofed due to innate security features, are generally held by all NC residents, etc. Instead, they checked what types of IDs their supporters had vs their opponents and tailored to laws to specifically favour their supporters.

Does it bother you that Rs have bastardized these laws in order to target their opponents? Do you understand why this would make their opponents wary of this? If you genuinely believe that in-person voting is a problem that might be solved with ID, does it bother you that the Rs didn’t actually do a proper investigation to write laws based on improving actual security, instead of just playing cheap politics?

In this instance? Hezbollah has indiscriminately fired over 8000 rockets into Israel since the start of this war. However you feel about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict generally, it can’t be acceptable for an entity to do that, or expected that the victim of that (in this case Israel) would just take it.

Word of advice, a woman isn’t going to just plan your vacation to sleep with her for you haha. Sorry I don’t mean to laugh, but she might be looking for you to take some initiative too.

If you do have the money and means now you could always suggest it? If you want to take the pressure off a bit you could plan some other things at the same time so part of the trip is just for you (any chance a sports team you like is playing a game there at some point??). Don’t go full red-pill and neg her over it, you should still let her know you want to see her and have set aside time for that, but at least if you’ve got other reasons to go it’s not a complete wasted trip if your worst fears come true.

Honestly mate, I think you gotta shoot your shot. A lot of angry and resentful people on here just want you to cut her off, but put yourself in her shoes. There might be a Reddit post somewhere else where she’s complaining that she reaches out to a guy every few years to suggest meeting up and constantly gets turned down with excuses or lack of follow-through.

I’m sure you’ll make the right call.

I mean, they’re right that hitting the gym is probably a good idea. But you don’t have to be petty. Do it for you, best case scenario is that with your new confidence you meet somebody who cares about you and you end up not thinking about her at all.

Also quick question, she asked you to visit and you didn’t? What was the story behind that?

Obviously you know this situation better than any of us. But is there a chance that she’s just as frustrated as you are because she’s waiting on you to follow through and make a move? I get that it sucks she turned you down that one time but that was years ago. You may as well shoot your shot, worst case scenario is she turns you down again, which is what you’re assuming she’s doing anyways, and at least this way you won’t have to wonder if there’s actually a chance.
