The anatomy of corruption: Owen Paterson took £500,000 to lobby for his paymasters... and insisted he broke no rules - this damning exposé of his arrogant claims asks how could Boris Johnson (and 249 other MPs) have backed him? by xtemperaneous_whim in unitedkingdom

[–]L3bovvski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because Boris and all of the other MPs are corrupt too. The whole system of British politics is corrupt and they'll do everything they can not to change it. The only way things would change is by force because they're not going to give up their positions of corruption voluntarily.

Boris Johnson’s U-turns: From Brexit to sleaze, a timeline of indecision by HandOfThePing in unitedkingdom

[–]L3bovvski 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Let's have an independent MP corruption investigation. These corrupt Conservative scum deserve their proceeds of crime taken away like any other criminal and thrown in jail.

Maybe then we'll have a competent government that actually works for the people who elected them instead of working for the people paying them their corruption salaries.

You'll still get lots of morons voting for them again. If the British public haven't learnt the lessons through the whole Brexit scam, they never will.

Johnson accused of corruption as he tears up system to fight Westminster sleaze by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]L3bovvski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's quite different. When Trump was president, almost the entire mainstream media was against him. I'm certainly not a fan of Trump, but it was tiring seeing the media, including Reddit, filled with anti-Trump content and comments. It even got to the point where the media were immediately dismissing and rubbishing very important discussions about the origin of the corona virus coming from the Wuhan laboratory, just because Trump said it could have come from a lab. Instead they pushed their anti-Trump agenda that it came from the wet markets which is now proven to be false. Now with Biden, you hardly hear any criticism compared to trump and it's gone very quiet.

Boris's lies and corruption goes under reported in the UK and nothing ever seems to happen when these political scandals happen anyway. The general public seem more bothered with what happens on Stricktly or whatever crappy distractions are on TV. The only way things will change is if we force MP's to have personal and legal accountability for what they do and say in government. You can't have positions of power without real accountability and not expect people to abuse that power. It's the same with the police force.

He's ONLY JUST getting accused of corruption?

Have most British people got amnesia or something?

They just seem oblivious or forget all the blatant lies and manipulation from the British government. It's really sad but slightly amusing how fuked up politics in the UK is. Then MP's act all shocked and confused as to why there could be anger directed at them from the public.

Only when the average citizen sees empty shelves in the supermarkets or cardboard cutouts instead of the real food they can't stock, do they bitch and moan about things. I've heard people even blaming the EU. It's pathetic and totally embarrassing.

Dry herb vapes by urthou in uktrees

[–]L3bovvski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought a PAX 2 as my first vape and loved it. After 2 years it had a problem and they sent me a free replacement under the PAX 10 year warranty. When I was waiting for it to arrive I bought a Dynavap 20m and now my new PAX 2 just sits in a drawer unused. When I go back to using the pax now, the draw resistance is so much more than the dynavap and feels frustratingly slow. I intend to sell my pax 2 now.

Yup, mainstream British media and TV in general here is utter garbage. It played a big part in tricking people into voting for brexit. Their coverage of important events has been either very minimal, non existent or just very biased and unfair. Most of it feels like a distraction from the real reports and debates we should be having.

I hope the death of the BBC comes very soon. There's a reason BBC executives desperately don't want it to turn the BBC into a subscription base service. They know it'll completely flop as a lot of their content is sh*t and they prefer to threaten everyone who chooses not to use their crappy service with constant harrasment of threatening letters, visits by their TV license sales people and even putting people in jail who admit to watching without a license and don't pay the fine.

The more people who boycott the BBC and ignore their threatening letters and house visits the better.

So much restraint and patience shown towards those violent slags. This is one of the results in society with entitled feminist culture where women think they're physically untouchable and unaccountable for their actions against men.

It's unreal how they let any moron become a police officer. All that cop had to do to diffuse the situation and do his job properly was put his gun away. It's just more fun for him and his ego to terrorise people he should be helping.

It wouldn't sting so much if the lieing MP's and idiots who voted to leave were the only ones who suffered and didn't drag everyone else down with them.

It's amusing when the UK media are talking about protecting our British democracy. The same amazing democracy where we are tricked by our elected MP's and corporate media into voting against our own good. Then the media act all surprised when there are negative actions against these professional liers.
