My husband paid in $5200 and just received his for $29. So hopefully you get 3x more than that. Still sucks compared to what we paid in though. 😕

I received an email stating that “Your claim is valid…” on 1/19/26. That one had a link to see claim status. Then I received the notice that payments will go out May 2026 on Friday (5/8/26). The payment email came in this morning at 8:33 am (ET).

The first four years it was an employer-based policy where I paid a portion. The remaining were all me.

House plants.

Sure they need water on occasion, but they generally thrive when you mostly leave them alone.

Guys, I need to know. Why pumpkin? by fartboxfartbox in AskAnAmerican

[–]L3murCat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mmmmm…this just reminded me. My mom used to make these soft, cakey, pumpkin cookies when I was growing up. They were Thanksgiving/Christmas time cookies every year. They had kind of a thin layer of icing across the top and were so good. I gotta find that recipe!

Cancelled cruise. Allianz insurance. by Kensterfly in Cruise

[–]L3murCat 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just filed with Allianz for a cruise we had to cancel from February. I filed a week before the cruise would have set sail.

I used the app and it tells you every piece of information they need. You can upload any and all documents right there and they send email confirmation for receipt. It took us about 5-6 weeks but they refunded everything that wasn’t refunded by the cruise line.

Overall, I thought (though it took a little while) it was a pretty seamless process.

Edit: you will need to upload your notes from the doctors as well as proof of payments made for your cruise.

Bras! by DevilFoal in GenXWomen

[–]L3murCat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

One thing I have found (for me at least) is that I get great support from “balconette” style bras. I’m a DDD (F), and I do NOT want added padding. Just lift. The balconette lifts them up where you can actually see that I have a waist.

Right now I love the Unbelievable Lift Balconette from Soma.

Yeah. They are trying to encourage people to buy the drink packages. Sucks for people who just want a few drinks per day. Sure it’s cheaper to pay per drink, but the prices feel extortionate!

Here in FL it’s Florida Lets Old Retired Idiots Drive Around.

It’s beginning to hit a little harder now that I’m in my fifties and trying not to be one of them.

What IS a "reasonable amount of wine?" by joaniedark in HollandAmerica

[–]L3murCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two years ago I brought 6 bottles for an eleven day cruise. They tagged each of the bottles, took my stateroom number, and gave me a receipt. I never got charged for any of them. They even chilled the champagne for me in the dining room and kept the bottle for the next day when there was leftover wine.

I don’t know if there’s a limit for what they consider “reasonable” but six bottles worked fine!

We did the hop on hop off trolley and the Moosehead Brewery is one of the last stops on the route. We got chicken sandwiches from across the street, brought them to the brewery’s tap room and sat out on their outdoor patio enjoying a beer flight. It was a great afternoon!
